If you haven't seen it already, the surveys are finally out!! They took a little longer than expected to get approved because of some errors, but those issues have finally been resolved~
Last week a small percentage of Smoke Tests were sent out before the full batch of surveys to make sure everything was working okay. I did catch one major issue where the Returning Backer stickers were duplicating, but other than that everything looked good so I released all the surveys to everyone 💕
If you notice anything that looks wrong, please let me know ASAP through BackerKit support so I can fix the issue. As soon as I have final counts locked in, I’ll be submitting everything to my manufacturer right away for production so we are almost there!!! 🖤

I wanted to share an update on Muerte & Magic II and also take the time to say thank you *so so* much for your patience. I know this campaign has taken a little longer than expected, and I'm here to break down everything for you 🙏🏼
A big part of the delay came down to finalizing the designs for the feathered serpent God of the Wind Quetzalcóatl, and the Goddess of Love and Beauty: Xochiquetzal. I had the entire survey finished and ready to go, I just needed to finalize these 2 last pin designs before I could actually submit the surveys.
I struggled a lot with Xochiquetzal's design, and I went through 3 different versions of her before I was actually happy with how this final version looked. 😫 Here's a visual representation of what it feels like when you have Art Block and everything you draw just isn't coming out good at all 😆
And with that, here's the final 2 pin designs!! 🇲🇽💖
Quetzalcóatl will have rainbow glitter and screen printing details at 3 inches, and Xochiquetzal will have screen printing details at 2.5".
Here's the new collection all together at the correct sizing! 🇲🇽💖
Now that the last 2 pin designs are finished, I've finally submitted the Surveys for their final review!! As long as there's no errors, this approval process is pretty quick :) After the Surveys are approved and the Smoke Tests come back with no issues, surveys will be released to everyone ASAP! 🥳🎉 Keep an eye out on your inboxes!
My Pin Manufacturer is currently on holiday, so this gives us time to gather the final counts and make sure everything is completely ready by the time they return to the office. My order will be one of the first projects they start with when they return, so I'm estimating production will only take about a month and a half after they come back (plus a few weeks for shipping). Once they arrive, I’ll move into grading and fulfillment right away. My convention schedule is also cleared out for this time period so I can put my focus 100% on grading and shipping 💌

I wanted to share a long and overdue update on Muerte & Magic II. I’m really sorry this campaign has been quiet on my end, there's been a lot happening in the background and I want to be transparent about the delay if you haven't followed my other campaign updates.
Long story short: the delay came from running 3 campaigns (Pin Quest, Pinned & Preserved, and Muerte & Magic) back-to-back with very little downtime in between campaigns. On top of overlapping campaigns, I was also dealing with several unexpected family emergencies that made it difficult for me to keep everything moving on the original timeline I had planned out.
🙏🏼 The long version for the delay (if you didn't see updates from the other campaigns)
➡️ Back to back campaigns: While running Pin Quest, I was asked to join the upcoming League of Science pin event about a month before launch. I happily agreed, but I didn't fully anticipate how tight the schedule would be in between setting up & running multiple back-to-back campaigns. I originally planned to have more time between Pin Quest and Muerte & Magic to clean up/vectorize artwork, but with the added 2nd insect pin campaign in between, I had to put a pause on certain tasks in order to run these events on time.
➡️ Family emergencies: While running the campaigns, my mom was hospitalized due to a severe spider bite infection that required multiple surgeries to clear out of her system. Thankfully she made a full recovery 🥹🙏🏼 Shortly after this, there was a cancer scare that required more testing back at the hospital, but thankfully that all came back negative. After this happened, my closest grandma passed away which was a very difficult loss to deal with on top of everything.
Once things settled down, I jumped immediately back into my work. Balancing campaign work in between these 2 family emergencies caused some delays getting things started, and I ended up slower to check in than I wanted to be. For that I sincerely apologize 🙏🏼 I just want to be transparent about everything going on behind the scenes so you can understand, and I want to thank you all so much for your patience during this time. I also hope you all are taking care of yourselves too, I know life can be rough to everyone sometimes 💖
💪🏼 The great news is that I'm just about caught up with all the campaign work, and the Muerte & Magic surveys are almost ready for me to submit to Backerkit for review!
After the Backerkit Team returns to the office on Tuesday (Monday is MLK Jr. Day holiday), I'm hoping surveys will be approved shortly after that. Once I get final counts from the Muerte & Magic surveys over to my manufacturer, production will be ready to start ^_^

Wow, what an incredible Pintober this year! 😻🎉 I wanted to give everyone’s inbox a little break from the end-of-campaign flood of emails, but I couldn’t go without saying how grateful I am to each of you for backing, sharing, and celebrating my work during Día de los Muertos!! 🥰🖤

✏️ So what’s next?
For the next two weeks while we wait for funds to process, I’ll be focusing on refining the artwork for the designs. This just involves cleaning up linework, vectorizing it, and picking out the pantone colors so everything is ready to go for production~
In that time, I’ll also be preparing the Backer Surveys! These will be sent out soon so we can collect final pin counts. Once those are mostly complete, I’ll be able to lock in counts and move forward with manufacturing 💖✨

Meet Xólotl the Aztec god of fire, lightning, and death! In Aztec mythology, Xólotl guided the sun into the underworld every night so it could rise in the morning. Because of this, he’s known as the Evening Star 💫
This Xólotl pin is meant to match the Quetzalcóatl pin! Xólotl and Quetzalcóatl are cosmic twin brothers and represent the light and dark phases of the planet Venus. Quetzalcóatl is the light of Venus (morning star), and Xólotl is the darkness (evening star).
