When you've finally accomplished something important after a long time and all that's left is ... and then you pause, look again, double-check, triple-check, restart the computer while slowly counting to a hundred ... only to see on the third check what was already clear the first time: you've forgotten something so basic that ... and then comes the scream that scares the cat up the wall. `

I mean, really?

I've spent the last few months finishing Raum Zeit, and yesterday it was finally done: all the corrections in, layout finished, all the illustrations in place, cover looking good, files uploaded... just download the backer list with the email addresses and then...

And then I saw it—something was amiss in the state of Denmark, to quote Hamlet 😉

And when I finally figured out what was wrong, it didn't make things any better: with all the work on the books (okay, and emigrating, which can be a bit distracting in the short term), I completely missed the fact that there was never a pledge manager for Book 2!

So last night I tried to set it up in panic mode – something I regularly fail at even in a Zen-like state of mind – only to give up at midnight. This morning I made at least a little progress – but as is now tradition, I've sent a request for help to BackerKit support.

However, since I have all the email addresses, I decided to just go ahead and deliver the e-books – and while I was at it, I did the same for the backers of Book 3.

Your books have been added to your BookFunnel library! To get your books, simply log in to the BookFunnel app or at my.bookfunnel.com with the email address you provided (or with your Kickstarter email address, depending on how you received the delivery email address). If you log in and your BookFunnel library is empty, log in to BookFunnel with your other email address to get your books.

Now it's on to the printed books—next week, I'll send both layouts to the printer for test prints, and I hope to be able to ship the books at the end of March or in April at the latest. At that point, we will also begin production of the audiobooks, which are currently on hold, but they will be available in the summer.

And since I don't plan to move again, hopefully things will be less chaotic with Book 3.

Kennt ihr dieses Gefühl? 
Wenn ihr etwas Wichtiges nach langer Zeit endlich geschafft habt und es nur noch … und dann stutzt, nochmal hinschaut, nachprüft, nochmal prüft, den Rechner neu startet, während ihr langsam bis hundert zählt … nur um bei der dritten Prüfung zu sehen, was schon beim ersten Mal klar war: ihr habt etwas so Elementares vergessen, dass … und dann kommt der Schrei, der die Katze vor Schreck die Wand hochjagt. `

Ich meine, echt jetzt?

Ich habe die letzten Monate damit verbracht Raum Zeit fertig zu stellen und gestern war es dann endlich soweit: alle Korrekturen drin, Layout erledigt, alle Illustrationen an ihrem Platz, Cover schick, Dateien hochgeladen … nur noch die Backerliste mit den E-Mail Addressen runterladen und schon …
 Und dann sah ich es – etwas stimmte nicht im Staate Dänemark, um mal die Chance zu nutzen, aus Hamlet zu zitieren 😉

Und als ich schließlich herausgefunden hatte, was nicht stimmte, machte es die Sache nicht besser: bei all der Arbeit an den Büchern (okay, und dem Auswandern, sowas kann schon mal kurzfristig ablenken) ist mir völlig entgangen, dass es für Buch 2 nie einen Pledge Manager gab!

Also habe ich den letzte Nacht versucht im Panikmodus aufzusetzen – etwas an dem ich auch in Zen mäßigem Gemütszustand regelmäßig scheitere – um es dann um Mitternacht aufzugeben. Heute Morgen kam ich zumindest ein wenig weiter – aber wie schon Tradition, jetzt liegt eine Hilfsanfrage beim Support von BackerKit.

Da ich aber alle E-Mail Addressen habe, habe ich beschlossen einfach schon mal die E-Books zu liefern – und da ich schon dabei war auch gleich für die Backer von Buch 3.

Eure Bücher wurden zu eurer BookFunnel-Bibliothek hinzugefügt! Um eure Bücher zu bekommen, loggt euch einfach mit der zuvor angegebenen E-Mail-Adresse (oder mit eurer Kickstarter-E-Mail-Adresse, je nachdem, wie ihr die E-Mail-Adresse für die Zustellung erhalten habt) in die BookFunnel-App oder unter my.bookfunnel.com ein. Wenn ihr euch einloggt und eure BookFunnel-Bibliothek leer ist, loggt euch mit eurer anderen E-Mail-Adresse bei BookFunnel ein, um eure Bücher zu bekommen.

Damit geht es jetzt weiter zu den gedruckten Büchern – in der nächsten Woche schicke ich beide Layouts an die Druckerei für die Testdrucke und ich hoffe die Bücher Ende März oder spätestens im April verschicken zu können. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wir auch die Produktion der Audiobooks beginnen, da bin ich in der Warteschleife – aber die kommen dann im Sommer.

Und da ich nicht vorhabe nochmal umzuziehen geht es bei Buch 3 hoffentlich weniger chaotisch weiter.
