Oh my goodness ❤️ thank you so much everyone!! ❤️ I can't believe how far we flew in just a short time! I'm so grateful for all the support and pledges - and everyone pushing at the last minute to get the heron unlocked! ❤️ You guys are all amazing!!

I wanted to post a quick update to let you guys know what to expect from here 

Finishing Designs: I'm going to be working on finishing all these designs for a little while lol 😅 They usually take me about 8-10 hours each - so about 2 days per design if I get a chance to put a good amount of my work time towards them. I'll be posting updates as I finish them so you guys can see how they turn out - and then of course when the pledge manager goes out, it will have all the finished designs for you to see and choose from.

Pledge Manager:  I like to wait to send my pledge manager out when I have all the pins and bookcharms in hand - so there is less time for anything to go wrong or addresses to change. So my pledge manager will probably come later than a lot of the other pintopia ones. 

Once I finish all these designs, I'll be working with the manufacturers to get samples (possibly several rounds of samples) as I want to make sure everything is as perfect as possible. I've never done UV printing with pins so hopefully it will go smoothly - but I will take the time to make sure it comes out great either way. Then we wait for them to make the order - which with as large as an order as this turned out to be - could take several months. So I wanted to let you guys know it will probably be a few months before I send out the pledge manager but not to worry. 

I really prefer to focus on making everything perfect even if it takes a little longer rather than rush to get these to you guys a few weeks faster. And I hope when you get your shiny treasures it will be worth it when everything turns out as nice as I can make it ✨

Oh my goodness - we hit 20k!! I wasn't sure we would get so far and then all of a sudden here we are lol and still going with over half a day left!

We've unlocked the bonus stretch goal of metal variants on each set! This means all the sets will now come in two different colors for the metals for you to choose from.

Every set will be available in gold metal + another metal color. For example, the Crested Crane & Protea will be available in gold or silver metal - and the quetzals will likely be available in gold or black metal. :) I will pick a metal for each set that I think best complements the colors of the set.

And - we've unlocked both the pin & bookcharm for the Barn Owl & Pear Blossom set! We are already chipping away at the barn owl as well - which I know a lot of people are hoping for - and I think we have a good shot at getting it unlocked before the end! :) fingers crossed!

And I also added new pledge levels for those who want all 6 unlocked sets - one for pins, one for bookcharms, and one for both. So if you want to get the whole series - there are some special tiers just for that! 

Goodness - we've come so far today!! Thank you again everyone <3 I am so overwhelmed and excited by how much love everyone has shown this project. And I can't wait to send you all beautiful shinys ✨

We are down to the final day! JJust a little over 24 hours to go and we have unlocked so many new designs! There are now 5 (almost 6) complete sets unlocked!!

Goodness, we are flying past all these stretch goals!! After posting the Cattails last night - we've unlocked:

 
I'm painting these as fast as I can lol but you guys have left me in the dust and leaves lol. But no worries - I will keep working to catch up and have all these designs revealed as fast as I can. And of course - all the finished & polished designs will be up long before the pledge manager goes up. So you will be able to see everything in its final form before choosing your favorites for your rewards :)

And with everything going so fast - we only have one tiny stretch goal left for the Cattails & Grebes trio to be complete!

Aaaand maybe I'm a little crazy - but we're going so fast - so I decided to keep forging ahead and added the next painting to transform into pins and charms: Pear Blossom & Barn Owl!

I've been so amazed at how fast we've picked up speed the last few days, that I don't know what to expect with these - but I decided, as long as we are still moving forward, I will keep working on transforming more of the series 😅😅😅 I love a challenge!

Just a few hours left and - oh my goodness - I woke up this morning to see we have flown through almost the entire Barn Owl & Pear Blossom set!! 😄 I can't believe it lol I was hoping we might unlock a few but now we are just a breath away from unlocking the Owl Dragon bookcharms and completing the whole set.

And so, since we still have 5 hours left and we have gone through so many stretch goals so fast, I am putting up the last painting I have in the series 💙 Little Blue Heron & Indigo!!

I honestly have no idea how far we can get with these last few goals - but I figure lets add it and see 😅 I'm still so shocked and amazed at how far we've come and so happy to be able to create all these new designs for you guys!

And, you may have noticed that the stretch goals have become words instead of pictures 😅 lol we have torn through far more designs than I could ever possibly draw that fast lol. I truly had no idea this series would do so well or come this far.

But no worries - I will take my time to craft these last designs properly and post updates in the coming days and weeks with new design reveals - and same for the final design, polished design for each that has been revealed once I have time to slow down a little and make sure each one is just right. A lot of these, I drew as fast as I could in a day - so while they are a good representation of what they will be like - I would like to go over each one properly and make it as nice as possible.

And of course - all the designs will be completely finished for you to look through before I send out the pledge manager for you to choose your favorites from.

And as a quick recap for those just catching up now - we've unlocked 21 different designs spanning 7 different sets!!

So many I couldn't even keep up with making the designs fast enough - so there are several more designs than this unlocked but not ready to share yet 😅

And we have unlocked the deluxe display cards for each pin set that will be a 5x7 gold foil card to display all 3 matching pins!

Aaand we unlocked the Metal Variants - so now each set will come in two different metal colors. All sets will come in gold metal + another metal color (like silver or black) for you to choose your favorite from!

There are just 4 hours left now - so lets see how far we can get into these last few stretch goals! 💙

I don't normally share my works-in-progress as I am always so nervous about how messy and not pretty they look lol 

But I know a lot of people really love seeing them - seeing behind the scenes how the artist is designing and creating their work. 

And since each of these designs usually takes me about 8-10 hours to complete, I am pretty sure I cannot keep up with how fast they are unlocking with the finished design. So I thought this would be a fun way to show you guys what the pins and charms will look like by sharing these work-in-progress sketches as I am refining the design in my mind and on paper. 

This is my plan for the Crested Grebe! :) I think this set is going to be very elegant and classy. I love the shapes of the sharp and curvy grebes and how it is mirrored by the sharp points and graceful curves of the cattails.

Ok, back to sketching for me! 😅 But I hope you guys enjoy seeing these little peeks I usually keep hidden away lol 

Aaaah I am so happy to say - we have unlocked the entire set for the Cattails & Crested Grebe set!! I am hard at work on a sketch for the dragon to give you guys a preview of what it will look like - but you guys are definitely running ahead faster than I can draw lol - which is wonderful <3 I will catch up lol

And we are already about halfway to unlocking the first design in the new set - the pear blossom! I am really excited to see how far we can get with this new set!

Aaand - I may be a crazy lady - but I decided to add a bonus stretch goal at 20k!

If we hit 20k (which I really think we have a great shot at) I am going to add a second metal color option for each set!

With this series, it was so hard to make up my mind about what color metal I wanted them to have. I love the look of gold with all of these - and in general on pins. It's just so classy and classic! But with each set, I've also thought there was another color that could look pretty - like silver on the crested crane set - or metallic black on the quetzal set. 

So I decided, why choose?! lol If we hit 20k - each set will come in two color options for the metal. All the sets will come in gold and one other metal color that I think complements the colors of the set :) 

Oh my goodness - I can't believe how fast these are going by!! We not only unlocked the new pin design - Cattails - but the matching bookcharms as well!
 

I've always loved cattails and was wishing for an excuse to paint them. One day I was talking with my friend Kristen about it who is super nice about helping me with files of great reference photos and helping me brainstorm on some of my projects - and she told me that cattails are actually flowers!! 

I couldn't believe it! How perfect! I knew instantly I was going to paint a Flora & Feather painting with cattails! 😊 And now these elegant and unconventional flowers get to be transformed into pins and charms as well!!
 
I'm really excited about this set - these pretty coppery browns and greys are really calling to me and I hope you guys love this set too! Up next we have the Crested Grebe ✨

Grebes are an extremely ancient species of bird dating back to the Late Cretaceous Epoch - about 80 million years ago! Grebes are highly specialized diving birds with no obvious close relatives - living or fossil. I love how sharp and delicate these birds look and the fact that they are from an era of dinosaurs makes them all that more incredible to me! I can't wait to finish the designs for the Grebe pin - and at the rate we are going - I better get back to work on it lol

The Scarlet Dragon Pin has been unlocked and we are well on our way to unlocking the bookcharm as well! I am hard at work on the dragon design - so hopefully will have the design finished by tonight :) and I did finish the Scarlet Ibis design last night as well which I snuck into an update at like 2 am lol but here is where we are with this set so far

I can't wait to complete the trio with the dragon design!

And since you guys have already pretty much unlocked this entire set with 3 days left to go - I added another set to work on before the end - Cattails & Crested Grebes

I'm not sure how far we will get into the set, but at the rate we are going, I think we have a good chance of unlocking at least a few of these! 

Honestly, I am just so amazed to see how many of these paintings we got through already. We did in days what I thought would take the whole campaign to do - so each new design we hit is just an exciting extra bonus that I am so glad to be able to bring to life. Thank you so much everyone! I'm going to go finish bringing this scarlet dragon to life now lol hopefully before we unlock any new designs 😅

Quick update - sans picture 😅 - the Scarlet Ibis pin has been unlocked!!

I am so happy to see this one get unlocked as I know this is the one so many people were hoping for! ❤️ And you guys definitely beat me in the race to get it unlocked before I finished the design lol but I am hard at work on it today - so hopefully I will have a shiny new design to share by tonight or tomorrow morning! Maybe even before the bookcharm of it gets unlocked as well lol

We did it!! ✨ We unlocked the complete trio for the Scarlet Ibis & Poppy set! We unlocked both the pin and bookcharm yesterday for this swoopy critter who hides among the scarlet ibis and poppy lands!  And I finished the Scarlet Dragon design late last night 😅 

Out of all my Flora & Feather paintings, this dragon seems to be the hardest for people to find - and sometimes I think maybe it's not as fair as the others - as these dragons are hidden in the water, swimming close to the surface around the ibis feet, passing notice as fish. So for the pin, I wanted the scarlet dragon to show its aquatic nature. This also gave me a lot of fun shapes to play with to try and capture the gestural movement that the poppy and ibis designs have. I hope you guys love the newest addition to the set! 

With 2 days to go - I've added another painting to transform into pins and charms - the Crested Grebes & Cattails!! And - we are already halfway to unlocking the first design - the Cattails!!

🌹 We did it! We raced past both the pin and the bookcharm for the poppy!🌹

I am so excited about this design! When I was little, I lived near a field in England that was covered in poppies and I remember playing in them - so this flower has a fond feeling of distant memories and carefree afternoons. I always loved the playfulness and weightless feeling that poppies had - so I hope I was able to capture that a little in the design and that you guys love the newest piece in the series ❤️

And up next - is the scarlet ibis! The race is on to see if I can finish the design before it unlocks lol 😅

oh my goodness - can't believe how fast these are going lol but we've unlocked the bookcharms for the scarlet ibis as well! ❤️ And, I was able to finish the design tonight! (Allbeit - a little later at night than I was hoping lol) 

I wanted the ibis to have the same sense of movement and gesture that the poppy did rather than the more simple side profile - and I had a lot of fun with how these two played off each other. I hope you guys love how the ibis turned out as I know it's one a lot of people were waiting to see ❤️ 

And - that means next up is the scarlet dragon! 

I'm super excited for this one! This dragon is usually one of the hardest for people to find in the painting out of the series - and sometimes I second guess my choice of where I hid them lol because of that - but staying connected to the dragon in the painting, this dragon is going to be a red water dragon 🐉❤️ I can't wait to see how the swooping shapes of the other two in the set translate into the dragon as well.
