Hello creatures, a bit of a longer update again~

We had a TIE on our creature unlock poll. Both the Beast and the Shadow received 28 votes. I thought the Beast might be popular, but was unsure about Shadow. It's awesome that so many folks seem to like him, too!

After the Beast, the unlocks will be: the Entity, the Demon, the Observer, the Maw, and the Vampire (poor vamp got 5 votes haha).

Since I now have a completed sample of Shadow, I'll make him the first pin to fund, with the Beast as our first stretch goal.

Honestly, I think he looks great and—as far as I can tell—matches the artwork well! He is currently being shipped to me, so It'll be easier for me to determine if he needs any tweaks. He is 2.25" tall, and the rest of the Monsters' sizes will be balanced around him. EDIT: after receiving the pin in person, 2.25 is too big! He will be adjusted to 2", with the rest of the pins balanced around that. The campaign page and further updates will have the correct size indicated. :)

Pintober Group Freebie Pin

Backers who pledge to Dear Creatures and 2+ other Pintober projects will receive the following small pin for free:

You will also receive a freebie pin from each Pintober campaign you back! Group freebies are Halloween treat or bauble themed, and I couldn't resist a spooky mini cake design.

I was not prepared for how cute it is in person! However, final colors on the pin will likely be tweaked. A few colors look a little too dull/low contrast.

For Pintober 2026, I'm partnering with Abysmal Kaiju's Psychopomp Revival campaign! Backing both Psychopomp Revival and Dear Creatures for a physical reward will net you the following 2 free pins:

These pins are inspired by the "Horse-face" and "Ox-head" psychopomps of Chinese mythology. I think these guys were a great way to bridge the aesthetics and concepts of both projects. :D

I think that's all for now! There will be a some Early Bird incentive info next update, along with a couple add-ons and more artwork.
