In Karayna, only twins are born with magic, and a prophecy names a pair of mirror-born twins to decide the kingdom's fate. When luck-wielding princes are hailed as that answer, they're set to inherit the throne. But not everyone believes in fate. And as the Guild of Broken Glass rises from the shadows, disgraced healer turned potioner Apogee sees her chance: steal a prince's luck, bottle it, and buy back her name.

Except her plan derails fast. Assigned to help raise two royal infants alongside the prince she came to rob—on penalty of death—Apogee finds herself trapped in the last place she wanted to be with the person she needs most. She just needs to figure out how to steal his magic and escape. But Prince Bear does not give his luck freely and has never once lost control of his magic in public. She intends to be the reason he finally does.

Then the Guild steals Bear's twin, weakening his magic and setting the kingdom on a knife's edge of political tension. Bear will do anything to get his brother back, but fails continuously as his magic blesses everyone but him. That is, until Apogee convinces him his luck has changed. Emboldened by her promises, the prince, thief, and two babies flee the palace to bring him home, as Karayna's magic burns unpredictably and the throne hangs by a thread. The biggest problem? She lied.

Can the Lucky Prince finally triumph over his fate, or will he remain bound by the blessing of good luck that has always cursed his life? And can Apogee, who wants his luck more than anything, remain a rogue when Bear's friendship and a growing cast of found family weaken her heart enough to want to stay?
