During Josh’s visit we were able to make great progress on the remaining development concerns and start adding that nice layer of polish. You’ll probably want to re-read the rules before you dive in. We've all been hard at work testing the new factions. At this point everything is very close to complete in terms of development, but there's still final balancing on the horizon.
Today, we want to extend an invitation to anyone who would like to help test the final game. We coordinate most games over the Woodland Warriors, our official fan discord. If you’re interested in seeing the new factions in action or just want to find a way to play more Ahoy, you’ll find plenty of players over there.
If you haven’t used this Discord server before, you’ll be greeted by a welcome message after you sign up. Make sure to react to this messaging using the Ahoy button. Once you press it, you’ll be given access to all of the Ahoy channels, including “#ahoy-lfg” helps players who are currently looking for a game find each other.
Regardless of whether or not you might want to help the final balancing push, you're welcome to take a look at the most recent changes by subscribing to current kit on Tabletop Simulator mod here.
For those that are wondering, we are planning on release a physical print-and-play kit as well. We should have something ready in the next couple of weeks which we will post over on the Woodland Warriors and include in next month's campaign update.

It’s been all-hands-on-deck here at Leder Games as we take the new factions in Ahoy through their final development pass. I doubt any midshipman has ever had to suffer under a more exacting instructor than Captain Brachmann, and these new factions are ready to go toe-to-toe with any in the core game…or should I say “sail-to-sail?” I don’t know how long I can keep up the nautical talk.
At any rate, we’re happy to report that we’ve got a big update for you all. Over the past few months, Nick has been working hard to get the final balance right on all four of the new factions. Each has received a number of gameplay and balance improvements. For my part, I’ll say that I’ve become a particular fan of the Coral Cap Pirates whose pickup-and-deliver puzzles will baffle even lovers of Root’s Keepers in Iron.
(We'll also have a print-and-play kit for folks who want to try the game out physically. This should be ready next update once we've gotten a little more art and we have a few more things finalized.)
In addition, Kyle has been chipping away at the art list. We’ve got some exciting surprises on that front we’ll share with you next month, but for now, please enjoy these charming backs for two of the Blackfish Brigade’s cards.
From here to the end of the project, we’ll likely be providing you with monthly updates relating to the design of the final game, the “Treasures and Turmoil” pack, and any news about the game’s eventual production and fulfillment.

Hi. I backed with the All Aboard pledge level .. but have received two base game boxes, instead of one base game and the expansion, metal coins etc. I lodged a support ticket with Leder Games' website but have had no response other than the automated one. Please help?

A Note on Tracking Data
Once your order for the Ahoy base game ships, all backers will receive a tracking email from their respective fulfillment company and will not be notified through Backerkit. Please keep an eye on your inboxes for this information.
North America
Because of the holiday shipping volume at our fulfiller, we are scheduled to have Ahoy base games shipped during January. Once they are ready to begin fulfillment, they expect a quick turnaround for the packing process to complete within 1-2 business days. Orders will typically deliver within 5-10 business days in the US and 10-15 business days in Canada from the time you receive your tracking information.
Australia and New Zealand
An export of backers was delivered to our fulfillment partner, VR Distribution, last Friday and shipping has already commenced. We expect backers who submitted their surveys last week to complete fulfillment by end of year.
For any backers that have submitted past our initial date, we will process on a weekly basis and provide piecemeal to our fulfiller. Orders will typically deliver within 1-2 weeks from the time you receive your tracking information.
Europe and Rest of World
An export of backers was delivered to our fulfillment partner, Fulfillment EU, last Friday and shipping has already commenced. We expect backers who submitted their surveys last week to complete fulfillment by end of year.
For any backers that have submitted past our initial date, we will process on a weekly basis and provide piecemeal to our fulfiller. From the time you receive your tracking information, orders will typically deliver within 1-2 weeks for backers within Europe and 2-4 weeks for the rest of the world.

Please note that backers who could not find their surveys initially may want to try to log into Backerkit again. A batch of backers with payment or pledge errors were recently imported into the pledge manager on Tuesday so you may be able to access your accounts now.

What’s Next?
The next step for backers is to wait for your Backerkit email invites to gain access to your account. You will have from now until the lockdown date to finalize any details pertaining to your order.
What is a Pledge Manager and Why Does It Matter?
Essentially, a pledge manager is how we gather information about your order and where you can:
Review your order information
Manage your shipping address
Add additional items to your order
Pay for shipping, any applicable taxes, and/or add-ons
Please note that outstanding balances will not be charged until the order lockdown date (Current estimate: Nov 2024).
The Smoke Test and Survey Emails
Today, we will be starting a "smoke test", where 5% of backers from our campaign will receive their Backerkit survey invites early. After allowing 24 hours to address any issues backers in the smoke test might come across, we will send email invites to the rest of the campaign on Wednesday Dec 13.
Backers who are part of the smoke test will receive their survey invite within the next few hours. Please remember to check your spam folders.
If any backers part of the smoke test encounter any issues or erroneous pricing, please let us know at [email protected] and we'll look into it for correction!
“Ahoy, All Aboard” Backers
For backers in the “Ahoy, All Aboard” pledge level, once you receive your pledge manager invite, we kindly ask that you complete your survey with your shipping and order information within 48 hours of receiving your invite so that we can coordinate shipping with our fulfillment partners. We will do our best to ship the game as quickly as possible, however due to holiday order volumes from our fulfillment partners, we cannot provide any guarantee on delivery by a certain date for the holidays.
We will hand the export of backers for the Ahoy base game to our fulfillment partners on Friday Dec 15, so please ensure your surveys are complete before this date. Any surveys that miss this initial date will be processed on a weekly basis. Tracking notices will be emailed directly to the email address on your survey and deliveries are typically within 2-3 weeks from the day you receive your tracking information.
FAQs
If I’m not in the smoke test, when can I expect my survey email?
We expect all backers to receive their invites by Wednesday Dec 13. If you still have not seen any sign of your survey after Monday Dec 18, please email [email protected] and we can send your survey to you manually. Please remember to check spam folders.
I pledged for the Ahoy, All Aboard! Pledge level. When will I receive my Ahoy base game?
If your survey is submitted by EOD Thursday Dec 14, your shipment information will be given to the relevant fulfillment partner on Friday Dec 15. We will do our best to ship as quickly as possible, however due to holiday order volumes from our fulfillment partners, we cannot provide any guarantee on delivery by a certain date for the holidays. We should expect all backers who pledged for the base game to receive their copy typically within 2-3 weeks from the day you receive your tracking information.
Can I add more copies of the Ahoy base game to my pledge?
Unfortunately, we are not offering the base game through the pledge manager.
To purchase the base game, you can still visit our webstore or your favourite friendly local game store for a copy.
When will you charge for shipping and/or add-ons?
We are currently estimating to charge credit cards for shipping costs and any add-ons in Nov 2024. The exact date will be specified at least two weeks ahead of time in an official update.
When will surveys be locked down? What does it mean?
When surveys are locked down, you will be prevented from editing the items in your order survey. The current lock down date is set for Nov 2024. The exact date will be specified at least two weeks ahead of time in an official update.
When is the last day I can change my shipping address?
We will send a 48 hour final address reminder roughly 1-2 months before we plan on starting fulfillment. This is so that we can forward addresses and order information to our shippers for early preparation.
How many copies can I pledge for?
Each backer is limited to a total of 6 copies of Ahoy New Horizons.
Will shipping costs increase if I add extra products?
Yes. Shipping costs increase per added item and will automatically recalculate shipping in your cart based on your order contents before checkout. To review our shipping costs again, you can refer to this link from the campaign page.
Will I get multiple metal coin Upgrade packs and mini-expansions if I purchase multiple copies of Ahoy New Horizons?
Yes! Each copy of the Ahoy New Horizons will include one copy of the metal coin upgrade pack and mini expansion.
Will I be able to switch pledge levels?
Unfortunately because we are not offering the Ahoy base game through the pledge manager, switching pledge levels will not be offered.
