How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Is the art final for any of the physical rewards?

No, the art is not final.

What is the "Trivia Quest" challenge?

We have launched a Trivia Quest where you can answer trivia questions about Sierra On-Line's history and its games to win free goodies. From July 9th to August 6th, on each day of our campaign, we'll release a special Sierra-themed trivia question under the Trivia Challenge tab. You can join one of seven trivia teams paying tribute to classic Sierra games, and add to your campaign haul by answering daily questions correctly and pushing your team to the top of the leaderboard. All trivia teams will receive a free pin with their pledge at the Blu-Ray Quest or higher, but members of the winning team will receive all seven collectible pins!

What can I win?

When you play the Trivia Quest, you can win up to seven pins, each one paying tribute to a classic Sierra On-Line game! You can only win a prize if you back us at the Blu-ray Quest tier or higher. Here's what you can win, as a member of one of the teams: Top ranking team gets ALL SEVEN PINS 2nd ranking team gets SIX PINS 3rd ranking team gets FIVE PINS 4th ranking team gets FOUR PINS 5th ranking team gets THREE PINS 6th ranking team gets TWO PINS 7th ranking team gets ONE PIN

How do I join a Trivia Quest team?

Seven teams are available, each themed around a classic Sierra On-Line game: Kings & Queens (for fans of King’s Quest) St. George’s Book Club (for fans of Gabriel Knight) Lounge Lizards (for fans of Leisure Suit Larry) Top Cops (for fans of Police Quest) Space Janitors (for fans of Space Quest) Glory Seekers (for fans of Hero’s Quest / Quest for Glory) Hintkeepers (for fans of Phantasmagoria) Once you pledge at the Blu-ray Quest tier or higher, you can pick a team, and any points from questions you have answered correctly in the challenge will be retroactively applied to your team! Recruit new members to your team and help them answer questions correctly to push your team to the top.

Do I need to back the campaign to play Trivia Quest?

No, you can just play for fun. But you'll only win a prize if you back the campaign at the Blu-ray Quest tier or higher.

How am I charged for shipping on my physical reward items?

Shipping is not included in each physical reward pledge tier (Blu-ray Quest and up). Due to fluctuating shipment fees, we cannot provide an accurate rate for shipping now. Once we get closer to shipping and fulfilment, we will charge for shipping through the Pledge manager.
