Project Update: I Found Something Neat
Hi Folks-
As I’m looking over some of my old scripts in Scrivener, I’ve been re-discovering some old gems. Apparently, at some point, I was working on a parody song version of Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler. That’s right. I was doing the “The Warlock”.
As I’m looking over some of my old scripts in Scrivener, I’ve been re-discovering some old gems. Apparently, at some point, I was working on a parody song version of Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler. That’s right. I was doing the “The Warlock”.
Here’s a little excerpt for your enjoyment:
Scene opens up with PELLA, playing her lute, as she sings/narrates CALE approaching RICHARD at a temple.
PELLA
In a plague infested town, In a church reeking with despair
PELLA
He met up with the warlock; dude looked like a nun;
PELLA
So the elf asked his intentions; and the warlock he stared blankly-
PELLA
’Til it became real awkward, and the moment was won.
PELLA
He said,
RICHARD
“Miss, I just arrived and came here for some prayer
RICHARD
Had a chat with the gods, for whatever them poors need"
RICHARD
And with a strike of lightning, and without access to health care-
RICHARD
They all started ‘sploding; their An-ii did bleed.
PELLA
So he bent down with intention, grabbed a handful of ashes
PELLA
Then he made a kissy face, and blew them all away.
PELLA
As their remains did settle; and his eyes they did tighten-
PELLA
He Said,
RICHARD
“If you’re in the mood for murder, come on out and play”.
Shockingly, that never got made, but never say never.
If we hit our goal for the week, maybe I should share more of the song, hmm?
