Foundry Correction
Hey everyone,

In my haste to get Foundry keys out to everyone yesterday I failed to notice I'd selected the wrong module in the key generator tool! I've asked Foundry to invalidate those keys, and have removed the download. If you had issues claiming it, it's probably because you already owned the first module and it was trying to give you another copy.

Keys for the correct module should now be available to you in your Digital Downloads with a "(correct)" in the name.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Locking Addresses, Foundry Nearly Complete!
Hey everyone!

The title of the update says it all - I'm locking addresses with 48-hour notice so I can provide the final counts for the freight shipments going to the various fulfillment centers later this week. Be sure to update your address if you've moved! If your address changes after this point there will be some time (probably a few weeks) to make adjustments before they need to be truly locked down for fulfillment as long as you're not moving across the world :)

I'm also almost ready to release the Foundry version of the book! The module is essentially complete, and I spent a few hours tonight tweaking the CSS for it to make some updates to get it looking just like this book rather than the first book (since we initially just copied and pasted the settings to get most of the way there). With luck, codes should go out in the next couple of days.

Screenshot of the journal as it appears in Foundry

The only thing left is to fix a few of the webp images that were accidentally created from images without transparent backgrounds and then get it uploaded to Foundry!

Those of you with the first book on Foundry will also see a tiny graphical update to that one as well to get the headers left-aligned like you see above, and, more importantly, to also allow you to resize the journal to anything you want (I noticed when making this one that the background image was locked in size and thus if you extended the bottom of the journal the text was unreadable - oops!)

Oh! And the dice

I also got some videos of the production dice sets to confirm they'd fixed the issues I'd seen in them, and boy do they look good. They even used a more legible font (something I didn't think I'd be able to change because of the price of the molds) than they had in the samples. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these finished sets.

A (somewhat blurry) picture of the dice

Next update should hopefully be in about 3-4 weeks saying printing is complete and things are on their way!

Printing Begins!
Hey everyone,

A quick update for you all today to say that files have finally been approved for printing! It's been a long journey to get the correct colors in the print files to make sure all the beautiful greens in the book pop correctly (instead of turning up a muddy brownish color) and reflect the colors from the digital version, but we're finally there. Printing is expected to take about 1 month, and then things will be loaded onto ships and sent around the world to the various fulfillment centers.

If you haven't filled out your survey, time is running out to do so! Also make sure that if your card has an errored payment you take care of that soon as well. Almost 5% of you fall into one of these two categories.

I will be locking addresses with a 48-hour notice in about a month when printing is finished, but if you've moved recently be sure to check your address in your survey and make sure it's up to date.

I'm also expecting the Foundry module to be finished up soon! I'll post another update when that's ready.

Thanks for your support, and I can't wait to have the final book in print!

Roll20 Release!
Hi everyone!

Quick update for you today to let you know that if you pledged for the Roll20 compendium expansion that has been released and codes have been sent out via BackerKit Digital Downloads. If you happen to find any issues you can either leave a message in the Discord server or email me at [email protected], and we'll get it fixed! I may also have forgotten to send the email notice about the PDF update last time, so you might get an email about a new download even if you didn't get the Roll20 version.

For those wondering about Foundry, work on the module has begun but isn't done yet. I think I'd last estimated it'd be done by the end of June, but it's looking like it's going to be later based on some changes in the availability of the person doing the conversion.

Finally, manufacturing is underway for the cards but hasn't been confirmed yet for the book or the dice as I'm still waiting to confirm final colors in the book and the final sample of the dice. Minis should be starting up soon.

Also, if anyone's been curious about a print-at-home version of the cards, I have the files for them and will release that on DriveThruRPG (if you're hoping to get it soon, feel free to let me know so I make sure to actually put it up for sale sooner rather than later).

And, a reminder that you should be sure to fill out your survey and ensure payment for shipping goes through before fulfillment begins to make sure you get your pledge items! There are still a couple dozen surveys that aren't filled out, and another dozen or so cards that haven't been able to be charged for shipping.

Thanks!

PDF Release on DriveThruRPG, v1.02, and physical samples! And a message about VAT for UK backers
Hey everyone!

You should be getting (or have already gotten) an email from DriveThruRPG with your digital rewards from the campaign for download over there. After claiming your free copies, I'd love it if you'd give a 5-star review to all your downloads. It really helps other people find the products and know they're worth picking up.

If you didn't get the email, it might be because you haven't filled out your survey or have had an issue with your card. After checking to make sure you don't have any issues with your survey, if you still don't get the email within a few days, you can send me an email at [email protected] and I'll try sending it again.

PDF v1.02

There were also a few more minor typos and formatting errors that were caught before sending the book off to the printers (converting "feet" to "ft." in stat blocks, for example), so I've updated the PDF to v1.02. This is the version currently on DriveThruRPG, and has been added to the BackerKit Digital Downloads as well.

Physical Samples!

I shared this picture in the Discord a few days ago when these arrived, but was waiting for this update to make a post here.

Tome of Intangible Treasures II is easily the biggest book I've ever made. I knew what to expect because of the page count of course, but it's a different experience to see it in the "flesh" as it were.

Overall, the physical quality is looking pretty good. The paper has a nice thickness to it and feels very premium, the ribbon bookmarks look great, and the covers are very smooth and glossy. There were a couple of issues I noted, however. For one, the colors are looking quite red. This makes the reprint of the first book look too purple on its cover where it should be blue, and the greens in the new book look muddied. It also makes the title look more orange than yellow/gold. I also noted some dents in pages that seemed to have been made by machinery, so I've asked them to look into that as well to ensure that that doesn't happen again. Finally, the binding currently has no glue in it. While at first that seems like a good thing because it means the book can basically be opened flat, there's enough shift in some of the pages that it ends up creating some ugly page spreads where the edge of another page shows through. When books are bound with a little glue in addition to the sewn binding, it tightens up the pages making the gutter less visible at the cost of having the book lie less flat. I checked some other books I own that are this big, and the amount of glue in them seemed to strike a good balance between usability when lying open on a table and looking nice, so I'm hoping to get there with this as well.

These issues need to be fixed and confirmed with another proof before we can move on to the full print run, so that will add a bit of a delay although I'm hoping not too much!

UK VAT

I realized I hadn't applied credit for UK reduced-rate book VAT before charging cards like I'd intended to. I added credit and had BackerKit initiate a refund for all excess credit on UK backers' accounts that should go through in the next week or so if it hasn't already.

Thanks as always for your support, and as I said at the top I really would appreciate any 5-star reviews you're willing to give any of your rewards on DriveThruRPG! It really does make a difference.

PDF update v1.01
Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know we caught a few more sneaky copy+paste errors in some stat blocks that occurred during layout. They've been fixed and the PDF has been updated to v1.01, which you should have in your BackerKit Digital Downloads by now (and should get an email notifying you of it shortly if you haven't already). These fixes will also be reflected in the print book.

With that I'm hoping to get to soft proofing for the book soon so that physical proofing can happen. These fixes have added a bit of time to the schedule, so it seems like there's a decent chance fulfillment might be delayed a month or so (likely pushing from June to July) - it really just depends on how how long manufacturing, freight shipping, and customs takes.

Thanks as always for your support,

Josh
