As mentioned in the last update, we got the go-ahead from Backerkit to send out the Smoke Test! As a reminder: that's a subset of the surveys sent to a random 5% o...
Specifically, all North American non-VIP orders should now be out the door and on their way. You may have received a tracking notification last week, but the warehouse still needed to pack the orders so the tracking might not have shown movement until now. Some of those orders were VERY LARGE, requiring more than one parcel, so you may receive multiple tracking number emails.
The VIP orders were unfortunately on hold waiting for the foil pack of cards that had gotten lost in the mail from the factory. They rushed a replacement order which arrived last week, so those VIP boxes are now ready for assembly. We are pushing the warehouse to get those together and out the door as soon as they can (hopefully this week). We'll keep you posted on that status!
Once the VIP boxes are fully assembled, we'll then get all of the International orders over to our other fulfillment warehouse (who can better process Int'l orders directly), with the goal of having those out by the end of the month as well.
In the meantime, AMBASSADOR POINTS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED!
If you missed the mention on the campaign page, every pledge includes a number of Ambassador Points equivalent to your final order total (including postage). These are unique reward points that can be collected and redeemed for discounts and rewards on our webstore, and a great way to support Magnetic Press further (while building up a collection of cool books and stuff in the process! Granted, you probably already loaded up on stuff during this sale, but there's always more...)
If you are already a webstore customer and part of the program, just log into your webstore account (which should be under the same email address as your Kickstarter/Backerkit account). You should see those new points added to your balance under the heading "MAGNETIC-CON'23 Purchase Points."
If you don't have an account on our webstore,your points have been tallied, but you will need to complete registration forus to add them. 😊

I know there may have been some confusion and frustration for those of you who didn't back the campaign and shopped the Backerkit "booth" expecting items to ship immediately. This special sale campaign has taken a bit longer to fulfill than we expected (due to the VIP items taking longer), but everything's wrapping up now. You still got some amazing deals that won't be replicated anytime soon! 😁

The only hitch I'm hoping we can avoid is the pack of cards that are supposed to be part of the VIP boxes... they were supposed to be delivered by August 31st, then ran a little late to be delivered by today, but there's now some confusion with the carrier about the warehouse address... 😣😓 We're trying desperately to get the post to complete the delivery before it is unceremoniously and unnecessarily returned to sender...
But we're thinking positive! If anything needs to be reevaluated next week, we'll let you know. Our goal is to get all orders out the door in the next couple of weeks, so any delays that would push that target will be addressed sternly.
Next up: Ambassador Points. We'll have those ready for you next week. WE PROMISE!

(We were hoping to get them out sooner in the week, but a hundred items is a lot to prepare...! We are definitely learning how to do things better for next year's Magnetic-Con... 😜)
If you are receiving any digital rewards (which I think includes everyone to some degree...?), then you should receive an email from Backerkit very shortly. You may have even already received it. If you don't get that email, you can also simply log into your Backerkit (at https://magnetic-con-23-book-and-vip-box.backerkit.com/) where you should see a big blue button in the middle of your page that says "Get Your Digital Downloads."
Click on that button and you will see a list of links to all of your digital items waiting for you. Because there are so many types of digital files and titles being distributed, you may have a mixture of Gumroad links, DrivethruRPG links, and Direct Downloads hosted by Backerkit. All of the external links include instructions for how to access your files or redeem your vouchers.
Tee shirt and Gift Card voucher codes must be used at checkout on our webstore. You are using those codes to negate the cost of your Tee and/or Gift Card at check out.
The only digital item that hasn't been distributed yet is the Magnetic-Con'23 Annual book. We're giving it one last proofread over the weekend and then we'll send those out to everyone next week (along with your earned Ambassador Points). 😊

We're still waiting on a few items to arrive from vendors (including the book which will be going to the printer on Tuesday), so fulfillment will likely begin shortly thereafter. We're aiming for the second week in September assuming everything is in hand at that point. We know that's a little longer to wait than originally expected, but we appreciate your support and patience. Some of you ordered some BIG BOXES with LOTS OF BOOKS, so we'll do our best to make sure those are packed securely. (In some cases, a few of you might have to receive multiple parcels...!)

At that point, we will be closing the store and locking all orders. You will receive a 48-hour notification from Backerkit to make any final changes to your order (payment info, address, etc), at which point you will not be able to make any more changes. We will then have Backerkit process any charges necessary first thing MONDAY MORNING.
Our goal is to then get all of that order data to our warehouse so that they can start shipping as soon as the Magnetic-Con'23 books arrive from the printer. While that appears to still be a couple of weeks out (sorry for the delay, some vendor issues had to be addressed), we want to fill that waiting time by getting all digital items distributed, if not by the end of next week then hopefully the week after that. Tee shirt vouchers should hopefully be ready to distribute next week as well.

And, as promised, you'll have EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE ACCESS for 72 hours before we open the booth to the public!
The booth will stay open until Friday, August 18th, at which point we will lock orders and process any payments due.
Hey everyone! A quick update following last night's status report:
THE BOOTH / ADD-ONS ARE NOW COMPLETE.
We have submitted the finished backend Pledge Manager setup to Backerkit for review and approval. Assuming they only work normal business hours (Mon-Fri), hopefully they'll be able to check it out Monday morning and gives us the greenlight to send out the smoke test by end-of-day Monday.
Final count: 289 ITEMS! Most of them are very low quantity (some as few as 5 copies!) and almost all of them at some pretty ridiculous discounts. Don't let the discount fool you into thinking these aren't amazing high-quality items... we pride ourselves on offering the best, and this event is our push to get more people to discover just how awesome these authors and artists are! Hopefully you'll discover some new favorites!

We hope you're kicking off a nice weekend with a relaxing Friday night. We've been working overtime getting the ~300+ Add-ons entered into Backerkit and it is taking longer than expected... it's like building an entire webstore from the ground up! We've been working with the Backerkit team on some efficiency suggestions for them to consider, but in the meantime, it has been a lot of manual data entry on our part, and frankly, we sorely underestimated the size of the task...
That said, we are about 85% done, and should absolutely have everything in place over the weekend. We'll need Backerkit to review it when they're back in regular business hours on Monday, so if all goes well, we'll send out the smoke test surveys on Monday!
For those who aren't sure what that means: Backerkit recommends sending a "smoke test" first, which is a small batch of surveys to a random 5% of the backers, just to make sure there aren't any bugs or questions that need to be addressed before the bulk batch of surveys are sent. This is usually a 24h test, so if the smoke test goes out on Monday as expected, the rest of the surveys should go out on Tuesday.)
We know you're eager to get into the sale -- there are SO MANY GREAT ITEMS at really INCREDIBLE PRICES... we're excited to let you in! And just to reiterate: AS BACKERS, YOU WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS FOR 72 HOURS AFTER THE SURVEYS ARE SENT, so you will have first crack at everything. 😊

Thanks for making this second-annual MAGNETIC-CON an exciting week! This year's MAGNETIC-CON beat last year's inaugural campaign by $16! That may not sound like much, but it's GROWTH! And we're happy to be moving in the right direction! 😜
We just got back from San Diego Comic-Con last night and everyone we talked to about our "virtual booth" loved it... I think we're going to keep watering that tree to see how much bigger it gets each year... 😉 (And with next year being Magnetic Press's 10th Anniversary, we're already planning some cool stuff...)
So what's next for MC'23?
Now that the campaign is over, we're able to move everything over into the Pledge Manager so that we can send you your surveys and OPEN THE GATES ON ALL OF THE AWESOME, DISCOUNTED ADD-ONS YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! There are a LOT of items that need to be added , and that is the biggest task to tackle. Normally one of our campaigns will have 12-15 items to enter, but we're talking close to 300 items this time once we factor in digital files, and they each have to be individually entered. (Seems like a lot of work for a temporary pop-up sale, but we really think you'll find it to be worthwhile!) So it may take us 2-3 days to get everything ready. Our hope/goal is to be able to send out the invitations and open the doors on Friday.
As backers, you will all have 72-hours of exclusive access!
We will then open the store to the general public after you've had your first shot. Some items are VERY LIMITED (seriously, there are a handful of items with fewer than 10 copies available), so you will have privileged access to those rarities for being a backer!
We will keep the store open for about a week, maybe two, before closing it and locking down orders for shipping. We still have to get the books and badges from the printers, not to mention the sweet coins and metal bookmarks. Our goal is to have everything ready to ship orders in the first half of September. And we are talking about ALL orders, including international. Getting these in your hands is a top priority. 😊

It says that $1+ gets you access to the virtual booth but in the pledge level, the smallest is they digital for $8, there's no option for a custom pledge amount. Is that the smallest purchase available in order to get access to the virtual booth?

We’re so excited to have you all here this week! San Diego Comic-Con is a big industry deal and while we will be attending that show, the prospect of running a physical booth is just EXHAUSTING (and EXPENSIVE), so we’re thrilled to host an even BIGGER booth on Backerkit as the Official Second-Annual Magnetic-Con. We want to make the experience as complete and fun as possible (hence the cool swag, badges, tees, book, etc), and of course want to offer some AMAZING deals in our catalogue as Add-ons in the pledge manager. All of this is to meant welcome both newcomers and prior fans of Magnetic to a celebration of our fantastic authors and creators!
