It has indeed been a little while since our last update -- we've been waiting on some confirmation from our fulfillment warehouse, and here's what we're told as of this morning:
- All domestic/North American orders have shipped. If that includes you, you should have gotten your package by now. If you haven't, please check to be sure you've completed your survey, and if you have, please reach out to [email protected]. You should have received a shipping verification with tracking information from Quartermaster Logistics when your package went out. If you missed that, you may want to check your spam filter... Otherwise, the above CS email will help you out.
- EU/UK order inventory is heading to Zatu Games in the UK for fulfillment. That inventory should arrive soon (if not already -- we're waiting for receipt confirmation from Zatu). Once they have the inventory, they should be able to get the orders turned around very quickly. They will send address verification emails and tracking information.
- Asia order inventory is heading to VFI in Fujian (just south of Shanghai) for fulfillment. That inventory should arrive soon (estimated 10/13). Once they have the inventory, they should also be able to get the orders turned around very quickly. Those orders tend to be routed through your nearest retailer.
- AU/NZ order inventory is heading to Aetherworks just outside of Sydney for fulfillment. That inventory should arrive soon (by air freight). Once they have the inventory, they should be able to get the orders turned around very quickly as well. They will also send address verification emails and tracking information once assembled.
So everyone should have their stuff within the next few weeks. Sorry it has taken a bit longer for you, international backers -- International coordination, customs, and courier negotiations have become a lot more complicated this year, but we're working through all of the new paradigms as best as we can.
For those of you who see the books listed on Amazon, it is possible that Holmes and Arsene are old listings posted by Diamond Comics (our previous distributor who is no longer in business), so unless those retailers still have inventory, it's very unlikely they actually have the books to ship. It is equally unlikely that they have the new JEKYLL book as our new distributor only just got copies recently. And it is impossible that anyone else has the limited edition clamshell boxed set or bonus items offered exclusively in the campaign. We totally understand how seeing listings online can be alarming, but Amazon listing requirements are 10+ months in advance of actual release, so they are not always accurate.
If you have any questions, let us know.
Thanks, everyone!
If you missed the mention on the campaign page, every pledge includes a number of Ambassador Points equivalent to your final order total, as if it were a purchase from our webstore. These are unique reward points that can be collected and redeemed for discounts and rewards on our webstore, and a great way to support Magnetic Press further (while building up a collection of cool books and stuff in the process)!
If you are already a webstore customer and part of the program, just log into your webstore account (which should be under the same email address as your Kickstarter/Backerkit account). You should see those new points added to your balance under the heading "DR JEKYLL Backerk Points." (That's the identifier for this "Mystery Classics by Vincent Mallie" campaign.)
For a walkthrough of how to register, just follow the steps on our webpage:
You can use points for discount codes, gift cards, and occasionally for exclusive collectible items that you can only get using points! It's a fun program and a great way to save on great Magnetic books!
If you don't see your DR JEKYLL points in your account, or if you have any questions about the above, please email us at [email protected], and we'll get back to you ASAP. Please note that if you haven't completed your Backerkit order, your points have not been awarded yet, so check to make sure your survey and any remaining payments are complete!
We're confirming shipping status with the warehouse now. They have most of the items, but we've had to transfer some of the "Fortune Bundle" items from another warehouse. They are on their way there now, so shipping should be ready to begin VERY SOON! We'll hopefully have more concrete info to post next week!
Two decades after the final kaiju fell beneath a thunderous blaze of technicolor justice, the sentai dream has dimmed. No more dazzling battles or stadium-sized glory — just a generation of ex-hopefuls, including five young heroes sharing a rundown flat and side gigs that barely cover rent. Warren, Héloïse, Nikki, Satoshi, and Sofia once trained to save the world. Now they guard nightclubs, fetch coffee, and navigate an economy that has monetized heroism into a hustle.
Thanks, everyone!
Just a quick update to let you know that we are locking addresses tonight! This will prompt an email notification from Backerkit giving you 48 hours to make any last changes before your address is locked for shipping. The warehouse has started assembling the packages, and we only need to finalize and print out the labels to get those going in the next week or so.
Please watch for that email from Backerkit. If you need to check your address, you can log into https://mystery-classics-by-vincent-mallie.backerkit.com/ to see what we currently have.
If you need to make an adjustment after the 48-hour window has closed, please send us an email at [email protected]. The warehouse (Quartermaster Logistics) will also be sending a final address verification message once they are about to print the labels, so you will have that final opportunity as well.
Thanks, everyone! Getting VERY close now!
Just a quick update to let everyone know that the books are on their way from the printer, and the other items are expected to arrive by the middle-or-end of July. Shipping will begin as soon as everything has arrived at the warehouse. The clamshell boxes took a couple extra weeks to hand-assemble and cure, but we're not too far off our original shipping estimate.
We'll share more news and updates as soon as we get through the current "waiting on a slow boat" phase...!
:)
It's been a few weeks since our last update, but we've got a couple of exciting things to share.
First, we'll be locking orders on Friday!
Second, we got a "final" hand-built version of the Clamshell Box... and it looks AWESOME!
The golden numbered bookplate is really nice, too - almost seems like metal! Each bookplate will come with a set of glue-dots so you can mount it where you'd like (totally optional). This advance bookplate was not numbered, but the final ones will be.
The mass production has begun, and we anticipate they will be on their way from the factory in late May. With that in mind, we hope to be able to ship your pledges in July (or August, in case of any unforeseen delays).
For those of you who might be curious about the tariff situation, rest assured that we will NOT be raising the prices or asking for any more money from you. As unfortunate as the situation is, we will pay the taxes out of our pockets. Let's hope they don't affect future prices or your spending freedom moving forward.
That's all for now. We'll post another update on Friday when we initiate the order lock.
Thanks, everyone!

And it looks gorgeous. One hickup with the package sadly, apparantly the bookmark slipped through the lid and got taped to the cardboard so it's damaged. The rest is ok though and I'll survive without a bookmark. Thanks for the campaign.

Forgive me if this has been addressed, but it looks as though there are missing words on Pge 47. It looks as though the page cuts off the beginning of a sentence prior. It only says, unseemly; your master would be far from pleased. Is this misprint common to all of the printings?

Engaged with this project 3+ times 🌟
Can we please have an update as it appears some have had their books for weeks and others have still not heard anything?

Well packaged and it looks beautiful. With the signed book plate, there was a small sticky dots. Anyone know what those are for?
