Gosh, thank you for all the super nice comments. Don't worry, we ended up terminating our contract on the asbestos house. We're under contract for another place and move in on January 8th. I'm giving myself a week to move everything business related over. There's so much more space in the house than where I currently am, thank goodness!
Since people mostly voted to delay or that they don't care, I'm going to punt fulfilment to January after I move into the new place. If you need your rewards sooner, message me. I'm happy to help. I really really appreciate the grace and understanding. I just don't have anywhere to put the new pins at all.
I'll touch base again in January when I get my studio all set up. Please take care and have a great holiday season!!
Pins arrived and they look so good! I'm going to start grading them and get them out, but I got a question.
So, I'm moving currently (move #3 this year unfortunately) and trying to close on a house and it's going absolutely *terribly*. The inspection came back with some extremely scary results and the sale might fall through if the seller refuses to mitigate. Asbestos is among the many problems that came up. I should've been nearing the end of all the intense time and energy commitments that come with buying a house but it looks like we've only just gotten started haha.
I don't have room in my temp apartment to do much with the pins that just came in, but we can try to get some orders out, maybe do a big fulfilment push each weekend (provided we don't have to give up our whole weekend for a housing-related crisis like what's been happening). But I am pretty confident that everything will be resolved in early January, whether we get what needs to happen done with our current offer or make another offer elsewhere. So here's the actual question:
Would you rather I start churning out orders bit by bit, or wait until January when I can pulp out all the orders in a week or less? Some now or all later?
I am attaching a poll and to be clear, any answer is okay! I said I can finish fulfilment in December and I think that is still obtainable, but the chaos of everything has been a bit hard to plan around! I lost my whole weekend last weekend to asbestos related shenanigans.
Been a bit! Manufacturing is under way but there isn't a lot to share in this phase - just a lot of waiting. There were some issues with molds, particularly Yatagarasu and Oni, but they are all fixed now! We are still set for meeting our December fulfilment estimate.
Not a lot of helpful photos to share yet but here's a look at the glitter effect that Seiryu will have. This is UNPLATED so the metal isn't how it will look in the final product, but the glitter is finalized. Pretty, isn't it? :D
So thank you to the backer who pointed this out, but there were some missing add ons in the survey add on section! The pre order swords I mentioned in my last update were not listed publicly for some reason. I thought they were there, but they were not - my apologies!
Surveys are still unlocked but I will be locking them this Friday so you have a few days to check out the add on shop. You will get a 48 hours left email sometime tomorrow. Cards WILL be charged at lock, so make sure all your ducks are in a row!
Here are the pre order pins that are now available in the add on shop!
Gideon's Longsword [The Locked Tomb]
Mira's Gok-do, Zoey's Shin-kal, and Rumi's Sain-geom [KPop Demon Hunters]
Buster Sword [FFVII], Oathkeeper, and Oblivion [Kingdom Hearts]
Sorry again! No pressure also - I'm going to make these regardless but wanted to at least give you a chance to snag them at the lowest price they'll ever be!
Cheers, and hopefully soon with more pin manu photos! - Lachlan
Surveys are finally sent! I will order everything as soon as we reach 75% responses.
The first survey lock and charge will be Friday September 5th at around 8 PM MDT.
Within the week I will be adding some fan art swords to the pre order store. Don't feel obliged to add them to your order - the pre order shop just happens to be the best way to manage merch pre orders - but I think these designs are pretty fun. They will be weapons from Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, KPop Demon Hunters, and Locked Tomb. These swords will be ordered a little later than the Forged in Flame pins so expect to receive your order a few weeks later.
I have a busy convention schedule as always. Here are my remaining cons for the year! - Matsuricon in Columbus, OH - Mesa County Libraries Comic Con in Grand Junction, CO - FanX in Salt Lake City, UT - Anime Nebraskon in Council Bluffs, IA
If you happen to be going to any of these, please come and say hello! If you mention this campaign you get a free sticker or badge ribbon!
That's it for now. Sorry the survey took stupid long to finalize. I would greatly recommend against moving, keeping a busy con schedule, and running a pin campaign at the same time! Bad! The good news is that we should be mostly on schedule at this point as long as shipping into the US doesn't become a nightmare....
Anyways, cheers! Greatly appreciate you all~ - Lachlan
Just a quick update! I’m at Otakon at the moment, having a lovely time~
Survey took a lot longer to put together - I really need to stop underestimating how much time these things take, especially with massive con prep and moving/unpacking/house selling stress. I have a few things to finish up on the files on my desktop once I get home Monday night, then review, then smoke test, then full send out. That last bit should be later this coming week or very early the week after.
Because I’m the delay, I’m amending the due dates for surveys. Take what time you need, and I will still lock and charge surveys every Friday. Obviously the faster folks get the surveys done the better, and as always I will make the pin order once I receive 75% of all surveys. This is to make sure I can make the order with a fairly accurate count.
Pins will probably be in my hands mid October, and send out early November. Of course, there is always a chance the pins will arrive sooner - a new crop of pins usually takes my manufacturer 45 days from order placed to shipment dispatch.
Just wanted to send this update to make sure you all know that the cog is still turning, just very slowly. I will be so happy once I can finally get settled down for real.
