I will make final selections for stories by the end of July 2026. Everyone should be notified (acceptance or rejection) by the first week of August. (Query if you didn't hear back by then!) August and September will be focused on editing the full manuscript, proofreading, formatting stories, and allowing authors to see final proofs. Production begins in early October, with ebooks sent out to all backers by October 15th. Depending on shipping locations, paperbacks (and any special edition hardcovers) should begin shipping by the middle of the month. You'll be informed of any delays.

For most paperback fulfillment orders outside the U.S., we'll utilize local printers and dropshipping whenever possible to minimize the cost to you. (Stickers and postcards, if added, will be sent separately to reduce shipping costs.) Special edition hardcovers will be packaged and mailed from the U.S.; these are only available in certain countries due to shipping costs, so please reach out through BackerKit if you live elsewhere and would like to pledge at a level that offers the special edition and we can sort out what the shipping will likely cost ahead of time. VAT, local fees and taxes, and courier fees are not included and you will need to settle any outstanding amount due from your postal service in accordance with your country's laws.

Make sure you read the guidelines before submitting! The reading period is June 15th- 30th, 2026. All final decisions will be made by the end of July 2026. All responses will be sent by the first week of August. All decisions are final. Due to the high volume of expected submissions, I will not be providing personalized rejections or feedback. Please don't take a form rejection as a judgment of your work—the fact you wrote and submitted a story in the first place makes you awesome. Well done! If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.

Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
