📚 The Story
"They have a party. Not the cake kind. The kind with maps and quests."
My Parents Are Adventurers is a warm, magical picture book about a child whose parents are part of an adventuring party—rangers, wizards, healers, and bards—who fight monsters, share meals, and make camp together between quests.
Told from the child’s perspective, the story explores what it means to grow up in a queer, polyamorous, and chosen family, using the structure of a fantasy adventuring party to gently introduce themes of love, change, grief, and belonging.
When a new party member joins, the child isn't sure what to make of him. When another quietly steps away, they feel the loss deeply. But over time, they discover that love can look different—and still be real. Still be brave. Still come home.
