Set a Reminder:
This new trick-taking game builds on classic card games and offers fun and strategic gameplay with new mechanics that knock other cards out of the arena!

Built on a foundation of martial arts media influence, and the designers own practice of Wing Tsun, Kung Fu Kittens brings tournament martial arts style to your tabletop.

Each player plays card to the center, either following the suit of the first players card, or using elemental scratch power to take over the lead themselves. Collect elemental scratch power both as points, and towards demonstrating elemental mastery which in turn unlocks further powers usable in future rounds.

Kitten illustrations are by Sara Goetter, who is also one of the illustrators behind the 2024 graphic novel Warriors: The Prophecies Begin. Find more about Sara at http://sgoetter.com

Card design is by Lisa Aurigemma, who is the graphic designer behind the Thousand Arrows RPG, among others. Find out more about Lisa at https://vermilionink.com

This campaign isn't looking too good.
Hey friends,

Unfortunately, in this world of social media platforms drowning anything that looks like commerce and isn't paid extra for, we haven't hit our outreach targets, much less converted them to backers. And, that's kind of a bummer and also not super surprising.

Still, we're holding out a little bit of hope for these last 48-ish hours.

We're still going to make KFK, it's just going to alter our timelines a bit and have to be at a more affordable scale. I've already sent an inquiry about that, so hopefully we can manage to figure something out.

And thank you so so much for showing up to support this project. We'll see what shakes out in another day and a half.

10 days in, 40% funded
Hello again friends, old and new!

We've passed the 40% mark and have just shy of three weeks to go. Next week I'll be taking KFK to Break My Game in Baltimore, to do some rulebook testing and make sure that we know in detail where we can address any confusing sequences, add clarification where necessary, or even just fix any errors that have shown up over time.

All backers have been granted instant access to the rulebook preview; if you have looked at it and found some pieces of it wanting, we'd really love to hear about your experience and what you saw! Look in your digital downloads for the file.

As always, thank you all again for backing, for following, and for being a fan and coming along for the ride. We couldn't do this without you!

And now for the backers in particular, let's tease a variant...

Welcome friends, old and new!
We're just about 72 hours in, and are already nearly 40% funded, which is positively awesome. (And also past the historical success indicator metric). I see a lot of familiar backers and a lovely variety of ones I don't recognize!

Thank you all for giving this such a banger of a start. I hope that if you're rulebook readers, you've checked out the preview. And I'd like to ask that if you have any questions or anything seems confusing, you'll let me know so that I can clarify it or fix problems.

There's a poll attached to this update that inquires about your elemental allegiance. We may or may not do something with that. (Unannounced stretch goal hint perhaps?)

In a couple of weeks, I'll be taking Kung Fu Kittens to Break My Game: Baltimore to get some fresh eyes on the rulebook and put it through its paces and try to get a sense of any point at which teaching the game can become frustrating.

Towards the end of the month, we'll be vending at Frederick Pagan Pride.

And finally, a goal progress meter... So, tell your friends and let's get this thing made!
