Introducing the Project
This BackerKit project is to fund the production of the Sakura Skies Berets and Gloves!
These berets and gloves have original designs embroidered, and come in either the Pink or Cream colour ways. To aim for a successful project, the initial funding goal will only be £1,400. And thus, only the Cream Beret and Gloves will be unlocked with this initial goal. Once the funding reaches £2,500, the Pink colour way will be unlocked for backers.
The main rewards for this BackerKit are the berets and gloves, but you can also back for a set of the adorable enamel pins!
All pledges go towards funding the production of these items!
I designed these items with the wish of bringing a wider product range to the Novae Co brand, and believe that these new Sakura Skies products pair beautifully with the Starlit Sakura and Moonlit Sakura collections.
Perfect accessories for any season, whether a wintery Lolita co-ord, or for anyone who wants to keep warm in style. I designed these berets and gloves with the hope that others will also love to bring a kawaii touch to their autumn to spring looks.

The Berets
The Sakura Skies Beret comes in two colour options, Pink and Cream. At the initial funding goal, only the Cream Beret will be unlocked. At the £2,500 stretch goal, the Pink Beret will be unlocked.

The Cream Beret, like the matching gloves, is a lovely pale, off-white. This allows for the colourful embroidery to really stand out.
On the top of the beret, the embroidery depicts a cluster of stars forming a constellation design. Whilst the front depicts a sakura flower, and petals, floating amongst more stars.
The stars are bright and colourful, with sunflower yellow, turquoise, pink, and purples.
The material of the beret is felted polycotton 'wool'. It comes in one-size.

The Pink Sakura Skies Beret is a soft, dusty pink.
Whilst the cream beret with bright embroidery presents a bold design, this pink beret offers something more subtle.
The embroidery uses threads in a similar profile, with pale pinks, blues, and purples. This provides a more dainty look to the overall beret.
Like the cream beret, it shows a constellation of stars on the top of the beret. The front design is of stars scattered around a sakura flower and petals.
The material of the beret is felt polycotton 'wool'. It comes in one-size.
The Gloves

The design of the Sakura Skies Gloves in Cream matches the beret! With the bright and bold embroidery matching the design on the front of the beret.
The gloves are made of a faux-suede material.

A beautiful dusty pink suedette fabric, with pastel embroidery design.

The gloves have a lovely soft interior lining, making them comfortable to wear. As fashion gloves, they will be perfect to wear during the colder days in autumn all the way to spring.
Even in gloomy weather you can wear cute and stylish gloves!
Other notes on the gloves:
The embroidery on the right hand mirrors that of the left.
On the thumb and forefinger are embroidery flowers providing touch-screen compatibility.
The gloves come in one-size.
They will come packaged in a cardboard sleeve.
Dimensions of the Gloves:

From the tip of the middle finger to the base of the glove: 23.5cm
From the tip of the thumb to the base of the thumb (where it curves above the wrist): 11cm
A trio of mini enamel pins. UNLOCKED AT THE INITIAL FUNDING GOAL
These pins will be about 1cm in size, with dyed metal plating and enamel filling.
They will be my first pins made with the coloured dyed metal, and I think they're so cute.
Great space fillers for pin collection displays, or perfect accessories to add a pop of whimsy.

The kanji on each design reads as:
桜の夢 - or Sakura no Yume
In English, this translates as 'cherry blossom dream' or 'dreams of sakura'. This wording gives the idea of dreams full of cherry blossoms; flowers that signify new beginnings.
夢の桜 - or Yume no Sakura
In English, this translates as 'cherry blossom of dreams'. It is the reverse of 'sakura no yume', and presents the idea of cherry blossoms that hold dreams. When the sakura blooms, imagine them going on to capture your dreams. Once they fall, they're releasing them to wind so that your dreams may come true.
桜の願 - or Sakura no Nega(i)
In English, this translates to 'cherry blossom wish' or 'wishes of sakura'. This wording suggests a wish for what sakura symbolises - new beginnings.
The funding goal for this backerkit project is £1,400. Should this goal be reached, all backers will be charged by backerkit for their rewards.
The goal has been calculated to cover the cost of producing the berets and gloves in one colour way. It should also cover the cost of shipping them from the manufacturer to myself (in the UK). Postage will be charged once the products have been shipped, and a reward survey has been sent to you.
I say should a lot, as not all plans go exactly to plan... As past kickstarter experience has shown me. However, as with past hiccups, I always take responsibility for any unexpected inconveniences. Backers will never shoulder any burden.
In the case of an event that I cannot overcome, all backers will be refunded. This is a last resort, and is incredibly unlikely.
The Timeline
Staring from the project closing date being reached, the timeline will be as follows:
Mid October: Project Ends and BackerKit Charges Backers
End of October: Funds reach me
Start of November: Production begins
December: Production ends, manufacturers ship items. Reward surveys are sent, postage is charged.
January: I receive items in UK. Quality check begins.
January/February: I send out rewards to all backers
February/March: Backers receive their rewards, just in time for cherry blossom season.
The above timeline is based on estimates and approximations.
The Postage
For UK backers: The best shipping method will be chosen in accordance with the shipping amount charged - and is therefore subject to the shipping costs at time of postage.
Currently, Royal Mail 2nd Class would be the lowest possible postage rate, but last time I was able to send most rewards using Tracked 48.
For International backers: International Tracked Shipping will be provided by Royal Mail. Customs may be charged - this responsibility for customs fees lies upon the backers*. Tracking codes are available upon request, and will only be supplied upon request. Due to EU restrictions, Novae Co does not ship to the EU at this time. *This does not apply to US backers, who will be charged for postage price with DDP (delivery duties paid).
Update Notifications will be sent out to all backers at various steps in the process. It is important to me that you are all aware of how everything is progressing, and I will always be transparent about possible delays.
