Project Update: August 2026 Monthly Update - SPU Licensed Games Program

Hello Ultra-backers,

A few bits to share from Onyx Path before we have our summary and links.

SPU Licensed Games Program

Spinning out of our unlocked Stretch Goal opportunities for this campaign, Rich announced the SPU Licensed Games Program in his most recent Monday Meeting Notes blog.

They've tweaked the Onyx Path website, and there is now a link to the SPU Licensed Games Program in the About The Path pull-down menu at top! This is where you start if you’re interested in licensing the StoryPathUltra rules system for a game you’re intending to create and produce by yourself!

Onyx Path is very excited and interested in making this license program available to all of you, and can’t wait to hear what you think!

Storypath Ultra Tasty Bits 2026

As you may remember, Onyx Path is releasing "tasty bits" throughout the year, each a small puzzle piece you can add to your Storypath Ultra system game to change up the genre or flavor or add a new antagonist or other element. Here's the releases thus far:

Pending Projects

Currently, Onyx Path has just finished shipping out one project, have two more at the printer right now, and then plan to work through their backlog over the next few years by possibly printing two or more projects at a time. To manage expectations and keep things flexible, Rich has said that he won't be providing a schedule or list of which projects he expects to go in what order, but we'll know as stuff actually is in process at the printer. So, we'll continue to need an Edge in patience as we wait for the SPU hardcover book to get manufactured. The second I have any concrete news, I'll share. In the meantime, your best source is direct from the horse's mouth: Rich's weekly Monday Meeting Notes Blog and Onyx Path's monthly progress report.
