Project FAQ
Palladium has multiple authors working on different titles at the same time. Kevin Siembieda is working on Yin Sloth Expeditions and Rifts: Antarctica, while Sean Owen Roberson coordinates with other authors on separate books including Rifts: Bestiary 2 and the Rifts: Glitter Boy Codex. You can see the status of various announced titles here, on the official Project Status Page of our website: https://palladiumbooks.com/palladium-books-project-status/ Rifts: Bestiary 2 is nearly art complete, is in final writing, and should go to print Q4 2026 – maybe even before the end of this campaign. Rifts: Antarctica is next on Kevin Siembieda's list after he finishes final touches on Yin-Sloth Expeditions for the Palladium Fantasy RPG. Longtime fans should note that while many of Kevin's future titles have already been announced and are listed on the Project Status Page, Sean is working in parallel on other projects that will not be announced until they are ready for crowdfunding or imminent release. The first surprise project to follow this pattern was the TMNT & Other Strangeness Redux Edition, and the surprises continue with the Rifts Glitter Boy Codex as well as the Mechanoids Redux Edition RPG.
For more than 45 years, Palladium Books – emphasis on books – has been dedicated to publishing tabletop role-playing games, building a proud legacy of bringing imaginative worlds, adventures, and evocative art and writing in physical print to players around the world. Palladium has maintained a longstanding print-first publishing tradition, prioritizing the release of physical books before making digital editions available. Other companies may have different practices, and we respect that, but this is the business model that we have found to work best in the long run. Our philosophy is simple: New books deserve a dedicated period of availability exclusively in physical print. This allows us to celebrate each new book’s initial release, support our valued retail partners, and maintain our emphasis on providing quality durable physical products. We generally release PDFs for new books 6-12 months after they hit store shelves, via PalladiumBooks.com and DriveThruRPG. We offer physical and digital discount bundles on our webstore and run frequent PDF sales, making our books widely available to fans regardless of their budget. We recognize that PDFs offer many important benefits, particularly accessibility for players who rely on digital formats, as well as convenience, portability, and the ability to quickly search and reference game materials. We remain committed to providing fans access to our PDFs in a manner that does not disrupt our business model, compromise our commitment to producing quality physical products, or undercut the sales of our retail and distribution partners.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
