NEW Battle Map - Garrett Fellhook's House. I don't know about you, but this one sounds really of creepy. Then again, I suppose that's the idea lol
NEW Monster - Fungoid Elemental. I haven't looked into this one yet, but it sounds awesome and I don't doubt the team has something amazing in store. I bet he's a fun guy (I'll see myself out...).
Next up is the fabled Area Map! This map will be hand-painted and labelled by Moreno Paissan. It will include all the locations of interest referenced in the adventure. It looks stunning and it's a great visual aid for your players.
Every time we run one of these, I get super stoked when we unlock the Area Map because I just love seeing them come to life. For me, the labelled Area Map just ties everything together.
The best part is, we're almost there!!!

It's raining like crazy here on the Emerald Isle so the seasons are definitely a changing.
Ahead of the launch of Mote of Madness tomorrow, I wanted to let you know that we've submitted surveys to Backerkit for review which usually takes 48 hours. Then we start the smoke test, which sends 10% of surveys over 24 hours to ensure nothing is broken. Then the remainder of the surveys send with the file following soon thereafter.
People have asked why we don't just send the PDF out in an email straight after the campaign ends.
It's a great question.
One challenge is that around 10% of pledge payments fail when a campaign ends, even when it's only $1. And Backerkit gives folks 2 weeks to fix any payment issues before sending us the funds (same as Kickstarter).
The main challenge, however, is version control.
Honestly, most of the Backerkit Pledge Manager is redundant for digital only campaigns, but keeping everything in one place helps us send updates if any changes or additions are made to the PDFs. We are considering moving file deployment to our website because it'll shave up to 5 days off how long you wait for these. AND it'll mean all your Penny Dragon files are up to date and stored in the same location.
But that'll take a good deal of work and October - December is our busiest time of year, so that's a project for 2024.
In the meantime, please keep an eye on your mailbox.

But that's not all! As Halloween draws near, we've conjured up something extra special for you. Brace yourselves for a Spooktacular Halloween One Dollar One Shot adventure that will send shivers down your spine.
I hope you like extra spice with your Halloween because this campaign also features Pumpkin Slice Latte. A slasher horror adventure where the party must break the pumpkin monster curse and save the village of Dreamy Hollow from Abyssal darkness.
This campaign includes several tiers with additional offerings. All digital and mostly complete so you'll get everything in time for Halloween.
And remember, prices for these PDFs increase drastically following the campaign.

What do you think about the poll btw? Looks like monsters and battle maps are neck-in-neck. But most surprisingly magic items are in the lead! And that makes me incredibly happy :D
That adds an additional 4 new magic items to the books for a total of 6 (if my math is correct lol).
All One Dollar One Shot magic items come with mechanics and art and sometimes we also include some additional lore, especially when we can directly connect the item to the adventure (which is a lot of the time).
Let's unlock more items to help your players on their merry way this Halloween! Something tells me they're going to need all the help they can get.

It's a lot of content for just $1 and I don't know if I mentioned this yet but they go up to anything from $3 - $7 when the campaign finishes. And at the beginning of 2024 we'll likely have to revise those up a little higher.

Here are some stats that I like to post for crowdfunding projects I back. I feel they are a good breakdown of goals, a snapshot in time, and also just fun to watch! I usually post once daily on weekdays, in the morning. Please let me know either here or in a message if this something you (the creator) wouldn't want. Also I can adjust the frequency and other details as needed as well.

Not gonna lie, I thought the community section WAS the updates section (so I've posted there a few times already) until I stumbled upon this in the backend. Silly me lol
Congratulations on unlocking the following Stretch Goals:
Why do we include pregen character sheets? The whole point being our One Dollar One Shots is that you get everything we could possible give you for running a game in a pinch. This includes being able to grab 4 characters sheets, hand them to your players! What about tying the characters in with the story? Sorted! Pregen characters usually come with backgrounds connected to the adventure. Same with our magic items and NPCs. Rather than being random content dropped into a random adventure, they are all connected for a more immersive game for you and your players.
We even include battle maps and an amazing area map (providing we hit stretch goals of course)!
Considering all the original art, adventure, lore, and other content, it's kind of crazy that we do these for a dollar. I can't remember what started our One Dollar One Shots. I just remember how the first few exploded and how much the community loves them, so we're going to keep making them for as long as we can.
