This is our first Backerkit Crowdfunding Campaign. We've run several successful Kickstarter campaigns for our jigsaw puzzles, and we wanted to give this exciting new platform a go so we can work towards raising funds for future puzzle art projects. Scroll down to the "We Need a Miracle" section for a teaser.

If you're new to Playing Grounded, we're glad you're here! For several years now we've been producing some of the highest quality puzzles available. Our goal is to create puzzles that are fun and engaging, somewhat challenging and guaranteed to leave you with memorable moments.

In this campaign we are offering three of our newest releases, plus a few of our older, more popular selections which you will find in the 'Add-ons' section once you make your pledge. At this time, we are only able to ship to the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. Shipping will be calculated and charged after the campaign through the Pledge Manager. Please be sure to check the shipping chart in the "What Every Backer Needs to Know About Shipping" section below.

We expect to send surveys by mid-April and start fulfillment in the beginning of May, so you'll have your puzzles just in time for summer.  If you like what you see, please be sure to share!

Starting off the line-up of this year's offerings, we have Garden of Color. This provocative piece gets one thinking about spring with its gorgeous floral array of colorful blooms. Here we see a fair maiden meticulously tending to her garden in all its splendor.

Garden of Color is full of majestic wonder. When seeing it up close, you can truly appreciate the depth of the different amount of layering used to produce a three dimensional viewing experience. This exquisite work of art is a royal feast for the eyes.

Back by popular demand, the jewel in the crown and most sought after puzzle in our collection, Altar in the Forest, Second Edition. This puzzle set off a flurry of requests asking for a reprint. For those of you who have the First Edition you'll know why. At first, we shied away from the idea of a second printing of our puzzles.

Due to our limited budget and the high cost to produce puzzles of the quality that we're known for, we could only afford small batch runs of each title. But Altar in the Forest is one of those pieces that deserves a second look and a chance to be discovered by a whole new audience to piece together and enjoy. We hope that you will agree.

To cap off this trio of the bevy of beauties that we have in this campaign, we present Higan Bride, which could also be referred to as "Ghost Bride." Like many ancient traditions, the rich history of Japanese Shinto/Buddhist culture celebrates the changing of the seasons with festivals. Many of these festivals are held to honor the deceased and to recognize the place of departed souls. It is a central pillar in their belief and hopes of being joined together with their loved ones in the afterlife.

Higan is celebrated in Japan at both the spring and autumnal equinoxes, when the days and nights are of equal length. This time of seasonal transition is when the distance between the world of the living and the world of the dead is thought to be the shortest.

Here Fuzichoco has unleashed a true treasure of her talent as an artist with this surreal interpretation of a spirit wedding ceremony. We can only assume that this young bride-to-be has been reunited with her true love. Together they will begin their journey and eternal bond as they pursue their dreams in this captivating but mysterious afterworld.

What do we look for when choosing art for our puzzles?

  • Art that is colorful, energetic, and alluring without being overly provocative or offensive in any way.
  • Family-friendly, so it can be enjoyed by practically anyone.
  • The ease and ability to transport you into the world of the artist’s imagination.
  • A well balanced image that provides a worthwhile challenge, but not to be exceedingly difficult. If it’s not an enjoyable experience, you’re probably not going to finish it.
  • From the high quality of our boxes, to the perfect fit of our pieces, we want your investment in our puzzles to leave you with an overall uplifting experience!

The high hurdles of financing

As we mentioned at the opening of this project, we are looking to achieve enough funding to acquire new art for our puzzles. The greatest challenge we face is not in getting the art, but financing the production of the puzzles themselves. There has been a significant increase in the cost of producing puzzles since our last run in 2020.

This campaign is the first step to achieving this goal, and hopefully we’ll raise enough to see it through.

As a teaser, we’re thrilled to, once again, have the opportunity to work with Jun Okabe (artist behind World Tree, which is available in the add-on section) and his latest work in progress Moonlight [image below]. Okabe is also excited about having another of his works of art featured on one of our puzzles. With that said, we too hope that you will be looking forward this feature work coming to a Playing Grounded Puzzle near you!
