We've done it, everybody! Thanks to your support we've not only funded MORIAH: Final Cut but we're going to be putting EVERY SINGLE STRETCH GOAL in!!!
Now what's left is to make sure we have all the elements, and to put them all together! From my end, that means finishing the writing and editing for our two new Roads and the third Backer-filled Road (thank you, Wanderers!), which we'll be collecting suggestions on through the Pledge Manager.
When I have my first draft in, Tony will be starting work to make new art for the Roads! At the same time, our five contributors have already been working on their initial drafts for the fiction pieces of The Ones Who Could Not Ascend.
Meanwhile, Jo will be working on that soundtrack, and Johnny will work on some additional art elements (like the paper dolls) for inclusion with the book!
Once all of the writing and art components for the game are complete and compiled, it will all be re-laid out by Johnny! That file will be reviewed before it's considered digital ready for release.
That's our next six weeks - the PlusOneEXP team will have further comments from file to print. But yes, it's going to be a wonderful busy exciting next few weeks!
Thank you so much, everyone, for getting us all the way to $8,000 raised, and for getting even more art from Tony Tran as part of MORIAH: Final Cut! Thank you as well to everyone who's supported after seeing MORIAH on the front page of BackerKit today, it means a lot!
There's only 45 hours left for our last two stretch goals at the time of writing, those being a custom soundtrack courtesy of Jo Vasinda to accompany your games at 9k. And closing us out are the Tales of Those Who Could Not Ascend to give you even more material from an amazing cast of writers at 10k. We can absolutely make these happen, let's finish out strong!
Hello everyone! We have only a few days ago till the campaign ends, almost at the top of the mountain now! After careful review, we have selected the last two contributors to MORIAH: The Final Cut!
Eren Ahn (they/them primarily) writes things, sometimes for games. They can be found ill-advisedly jumping off of walls or haunting a bookstore somewhere in Chicago. You can see their body of work online at https://www.erenahn.com/.
Sadie Pasley is a story seeker, game designer and actual play game master. Her games include Fortune Favors Dice, The Things That Keep Us, and As Meaningless As Stardust. You can find her on Bluesky at @oakleafinsignia.games or at her website oakleafinsignia.games.
They’ll be working alongside our three existing writers, Lin Codega, Snow, and A.A. Voigt to finish the stretch goal fiction at $10,000.
Now, here's a sneak peek of the five pieces of flash fiction that will be coming to you.
Lin: A young man ascends with his canine companion, torn between his friend and the dangers of the mountain.
Snow: A reluctant climber who hates the ascent but finds herself pushed by the inability to say no.
A.A.: A parent caught in reminiscence of their hungry children, waiting down below.
Sadie: A woman who fears being swallowed up by the men of the world.
Eren: A pilgrim at the end of their journey, faced with the final question.
Look out for these five pilgrims in full when we hit our last stretch goal for MORIAH: Final Cut! There's only a few days to get us there, let's make it happen!
Thank you everyone, for heading up this Road together with us! Stretch Goal Two is now in the books! The next road will be based on the story of the Ibong Adarna! A classic Filipino legend about the wondrous firebird that heals illness and the dangerous journey of love and trial that must be overcome to find it!
Our next stretch goal brings back an old hand to create some brand new pieces specifically to go with our two new Roads! Tony Tran will be making some wonderful accompanying art if we hit $8,000, and it would be awesome to have him onboard again!
After that we have two more stretch goals, including work from our three announced Contributors and two who will be selected from the applicants who've submitted! Thank you for your energy, your enthusiasm, your support! Nine more days - let's keep on climbing!
We've hit the first stretch goal! Sick! That means the game will be getting a new Road based on the legend of Maria Makiling! The patron goddess of Mount Makiling in the Philippines, hers is a legend steeped in mystery, generosity, fae, and even romance! I'm so excited to bring this new Road to the Final Cut!
Next up is the Firebird, based on Ibong Adarna, and a fair few stretch goals after that for more art, more writing, music to play alongside your game! All good stuff that will make the MORIAH experience that much richer!
In the meantime, applications are still open until June 30th for authors to write the stories of The Ones Who Could Not Ascend. So if you'd love to contribute to the text of MORIAH: Final Cut, pitch in your application here at: https://forms.gle/i6F4AoBEkn8u1oq88
