When you reserve your pledge for $3, you will receive additional items upon pledging to any physical tier of the campaign at no additional cost: Unraveled Dice, the Pestilence Banner pin, which is a premium hard enamel glitter pin, and a short PDF adventure "The Dead and the Drowned." 

The Unraveled VIP dice are a full-sized set of tumble dice featuring Unraveled colors, a custom font, and a custom icon on the 20 of the d20. You know we take our dice seriously around here. This isn't salvage, these are pure, preserved, old-world, pre-war collectibles. 

"The Dead and the Drowned" will be a short PDF adventure by QuasiReal's Nathan Heard. It will be exclusive to the VIP and All-In tiers of the campaign.

Great question, and one that pops the hood a little, so take a seat. I wanna be honest with you: It's mostly for marketing, with some extra benefits.

So buckle up:
One, and the primary reason, is to separate the looky-loo, low-intent clicks from those who are genuinely interested or already planning to pledge. This allows us to have SOME idea of how much we will fund for, which means we can be realistic about what's in the campaign. Then, instead of making Stretch Goals a wish list, they become improvements and bonuses to the pledges. Followers pledge at a rate of 10-30%, which is a massive range and hard to account for. This means both our pre-campaign (gaining followers) and mid-campaign (pushing stretch goals) marketing is vastly improved.
 
Two, we've run two wildly popular VIP programs for Bria's Mythical Menagerie and Veil of the Eternal Night and have received no complaints. They're fun, they work, and everyone wins.

Three, I would rather spend marketing $$ on you all, than giving the Zuckubus or g̬̗̬o̜͔̻̮̊̚o̪̍ͪ͌g̞̰̩̙l̲̪̹̃e̻͈̗̥̭̾̌͆ more dollars for ads to gain more followers. (These items cost more than we're asking for, of course, they just cost less than blind advertising.)
