Project Update: Development Update: May 2026

Greetings Absurdians!

I've conferred with The Too-Long Shadows That Observe From Afar at the Department of Licensing and divined that it's time for another development update. I'll offer the same upfront TLDR as last time: everything is moving forward and remains on schedule for late Q3/early Q4 fulfillment. Here's where things stand:

Artwork
Artwork is almost entirely complete, with most pieces finished or in the final fine-tuning stage. Once finished they will head to our graphic designer to be laid out in the book. Here's a little preview of what you can look forward to betwixt the pages:

The Parent-Teacher Amalgamation

Eyes Up Here, Citizens!

Guest Disturbances
All four disturbances are written, edited, and headed for layout. These scenarios run the gamut of the game's tones and influences, from whimsically absurd to unsettlingly surreal. Coming soon to a table, discord, and collective fever dream near you:
  • A rollicking time loop that may in fact be your granddaddy's in "Contrivance of the Lambs" by Elliot Davis
  • A mysterious disappearance and municipal power struggle in "Mayoral Mishap" by Irving Benitez
  • A (post)modern day gold rush into subterranean suburbia in "The Miracle Mall Mine" by Kendrick Smith
  • An implacable tide of treats and terrors in "A Transformative Trick" by Samantha Leigh

Logistics
  • I'm planning to send out backer surveys next month. I won't be locking orders or charging for shipping until closer to fulfillment, so no need to stress if you're moving soon.
  • I'm also planning to open the pre-order store next month! If you or someone you know missed out on the campaign, this will be another chance to pick up a copy of the game.

As always, thank you so much for supporting Absurdia. We're getting close to the finish line and I'm so excited to get this game into your hands.
