MagiTech for 5e is a pair of supplements for introducing arcane technology into any fantasy campaign. Use them to create heroes from a civilization powered by magic and machinery, explore a hidden city whose knowledge surpasses the outside world, or introduce isolated MagiTech discoveries into an otherwise traditional setting.
The player supplement provides new ways to create characters with arcane technology. Equip monks with force-amplifying metal gauntlets, arm warriors with MagiTech weapons and enchanted ammunition, enhance spellcasters with arcane devices, or become the bonded pilot of a powerful Arcframe.
The book includes character options, 3 subclassesbackgrounds, feats, spells, equipment, modifications, prosthetics, consumables, and rules for using MagiTech in campaigns where it is either commonplace or nearly unknown.
The Game Master supplement provides everything needed to build a world transformed by MagiTech, or to introduce its secrets gradually through lost ruins, hidden cities, experimental laboratories, and forgotten weapons.
It includes MagiTech monsters, magic items, factions, locations, campaign frameworks, power sources, vehicles, Arcframes, and rules for dangerous branches of arcane engineering such as Necromantic MagiTech, where technology and forbidden magic are combined to create customizable undead known as Deathworks.
Together, these books support everything from a single impossible machine discovered beneath an ancient ruin to an entire fantasy world entering a new technological age.
MagiTech for 5e can serve as the foundation of an entire setting where magic and machinery shape everyday life, or it can be introduced into a traditional fantasy campaign through a hidden city isolated from the rest of the world. Within that city, its people may live in a carefully maintained utopia, an oppressive dystopia, or something that appears perfect until the adventurers uncover its true cost.
Characters who enter this world can find quests unlike those available elsewhere, discover unique weapons and devices, and learn to operate technologies unknown beyond the city’s borders. Some may return home carrying artifacts that could transform their kingdoms, while others may become entangled in the conflicts, secrets, and dangers that keep the city hidden.
The supplements explore several branches of MagiTech:
Arcane Engineering: Engines, constructs, weapons, armor, vehicles, and generators powered by engineered magic.
Aetherics: The storage and transmission of magical energy through batteries, crystals, conduits, and dangerous overcharging systems.
Necromantic MagiTech: The combination of necromancy, machinery, and external power sources to create customizable undead known as Deathworks.
Biomechanics: Grafts, monster organs, alchemical muscles, artificial limbs, and living weapons that enhance or transform the body.
Automata: Magical servants, soldiers, familiars, laborers, and thinking machines created for specialized purposes.
MagiTech Arcframes: Powerful mobile suits that require training and magical Resonance between the Arcframe and its pilot.
