Will you help yourself to city’s treasures, or try to help the city, too?

  • 16 non-linear adventures with 33 detailed NPCs

  • Encounters that can be resolved socially as well as through combat

  • Full of magical cats

But why dont you check it out for yourself?

Edit

Kalusa is a cosmopolitan city built on a local anomaly: magic here is easier than anywhere else. The city grew rich around production and export of magical items, potions and scrolls. But a deadly disease 30 years ago left the once proud city half-empty, dilapidated and bitterly divided. While the ruling elite believes everything can be solved by magic, under the illusions, the city is ailing. Will you climb from the harbor’s slums to the top of the wealthy spires? Kalusa is not afraid to balance serious themes with whimsical humor of city where magic supplants technology, but the people are the same.

Oh and also, Kalusian cats are all inteligent and magical and only reason not all of them are speaking Common is because some consider it beneath them. You know... cats.
Edit

The beating heart of Kalusa are the NPCs that might become friends, rivals, companions or hateful enemies. There are 33 major NPCs with personal stories, secrets, strength and weaknesses and interactive hooks, and multiple side characters, as well as their factions you can help or hinder in their goals.

They are not static backstory, each of them has their personal drama and by getting to know them, you can help them or catch them off guard. Forge friendships, start rivalries, win conflicts.
Edit

The campaign is written as social sandbox that doesn’t force you down the predetermined path. You can follow any hooks that you find interesting, and solve obstacles by talking, sneaking, fighting or any other way. Starting on the pier fresh off the ship as new adventures coming to the troubled city, it lets you climb your way up to become famed heroes, powerful masters of arcane secrets or influential political figures. Make money, find friends, move into an enchanted house, get your own talking cat and decide what will happen to the city!
Edit

Kalusa is system neutral, with custom mechanics for the parts of the game that often get overlooked, to help you play out a social and political campaign where your decisions shape the setting.

It was playtested in multiple rulesets and you can use any fantasy game you prefer, however for 5e, Savage Worlds and custom Forged in the Dark hack, you will get free rules supplements that contain statblocks for creatures and NPCs, rules for encounters, implementations of magical items and effects, and tips and advice.
