Project Update: November Update! Polls and Shipping Delays
Hey there everyone!
As the title suggests, we have interesting things and bad news. To get the bad out of the way, yes there are definitely shipping delays. Right now, we are unsure exactly when the decks themselves will arrive, and it's looking like it might be a couple of months. I've been working on setting up the files and getting everything as it's needed by the manufacturer but it took a while to get things just right.
For context, a soft proof is a digital only look at the deck, meaning the art as I see it on the screen. A hard proof is a physical copy of the deck shipped to me as an example of the final product. Hard proofs cost money, and are preferred for quality checking because the way art looks on a screen and on a printed product can vary significantly. Because they're coming from China, the hard proofs are very expensive and have a long shipping time (exacerbated by the current global climate). I've been doing a lot of work with soft proofs back and forth to try and minimize the potential of multiple hard proof runs. This, unfortunately, did mean that the actual order has been in a limbo state for a couple of weeks now.
We are now at the point with the soft proofs that I feel confident to put in the hard proof order, however, as I went to do it, I realized that we do have a chance for a little weigh in from you, our lovely backers, about the gilt color. If you're a backer, please head to the poll I've set up to see the options and let us know your opinions, as we want this deck to really blow you away!
The order will be finalized next week, at the end of the poll, so we are hoping to be able to ship early next year. It's an unfortunate delay, but I believe that the extra time spent on perfecting the deck will make the wait more than worth it!
The good news is that the majority of the merch has gone through it's proofing stages, and are either in route to me, or have already arrived! All the prints and bookmarks are here and the stickers are in the mail. The book shouldn't take much longer to arrive, and the tarot cloths will be in the same order as the decks as it's the same manufacturer.
I will continue to do updates about this, and to try and get a shipping date for backer rewards as soon as we know it. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!
