I'd planned to release Bloodthirst in its final form in November 2026. With the art a little behind schedule, I'm going to push the release back to late December 2026.
I'll be sure to keep you posted when I have a clearer idea of the release date. In the meantime, backers can enjoy the gorgeous Sentinel art attached below!
It's been a couple of weeks since I last posted an update. By now all backers should have the updated Early Access document with the final two endgame adversaries: Opal, Callous Hunter and Mirabel, Forsaken Witch. Mirabel is my personal favourite (I love a good necromancer), but every vampire game needs a grizzled hunter nemesis.
Writing surveys is not my forte, but I've done my best to whip up a survey for those of you who have read (or better yet, played) Bloodthirst. You can check it out here! I'd appreciate whatever feedback you can give, as it helps me understand what is and isn't working and where the text may be ambiguous or misleading.
I have one last surprise for Backers too! I recently received the final art of the Sanguimancer. You can check it out below.
By now you should have received your backer surveys. When you complete your survey (provided your pledge has processed), you'll automatically receive the early access version of Bloodthirst and its character sheet. I hope you enjoy reading and playing as much as I enjoyed creating it!
You might notice that this version has only two endgame adversaries when I promised four. While Elluin and Varryn are ready to trade blows, Opal and Mirabel need a little more time to prepare. This means the early access version of Bloodthirst will receive at least one update to introduce these two antagonists.
May you have memorable vampiric adventures,
Sam
Most backers won't receive surveys until the 10th- thanks for your patience!
Ngā mihi,
Sam
What's happening in the meantime? Well, within the next few days a small number of you will receive your backer surveys to check everything is working as intended. Then on the 10th of July, everyone else will receive their backer surveys.
If you pledged for any version of Bloodthirst, you'll receive the early access PDF upon completing your survey. This is a plaintext document, but the final game will have both plaintext and fully laid out versions available for download. If you chose Magestar or Nowhere Home as an add-on, you'll receive codes for these after completing your survey as well. You'll be asked in your survey whether you want the code(s) to be for RPG Trader or Itch.io.
If you have any questions or concerns, let me know below!
Ngā mihi,
Sam
Meet the Sanguimancer!
A master of blood sorcery ('sanguimancy'), the Blood Sorcerer's Killer Blow feature lets them recharge their reserves of power more easily than their fellow vampires. Backers can view the full archetype below!

I'm reading over the plaintext doc, and I'm not exactly sure how the game is played. Like... what dice are used? I'm assuming it uses D6, but that's not explicit. You reference the Lumen system, but I don't know anything about that. Do I need to download some other document? If so, telling me to do that would be helpful. Some play examples would be great.
