Hello! I'm Sharron, the artist behind Sharrone & Only Photography! I'm a photographer and editor with nearly a decade of experience in publishing, and I'm so happy to welcome you to the third annual Shuttered Stanzas campaign!
What Is Shuttered Stanzas?
Shuttered Stanzas is an ongoing collaboration between a photographer and a poet who happen to be siblings and cannot leave well enough alone. Each volume pairs Pacific Northwest nature photography with original contemporary sonnets.
Volume III is about journeys, quests, getting somewhere, oftentimes getting lost. Each photograph in this year's collection comes from a single trip into the woods and appears roughly in the order it was taken. That means this volume isn't just another collection artbook. This coffee table book has a beginning, a middle, and an end.
A backpacking trip is made out of hundreds of tiny moments: The big view you were hoping for. The weirdly cute mushroom you stopped to photograph. The stretch of trail that feels like it has been uphill for nine consecutive years. Sunlight hitting the trees just right. A snack break that becomes spiritually significant.

Volume III continues the format of the previous Shuttered Stanzas books, but this time everything is built around a single adventure.

Why We Keep Making These
Shuttered Stanzas started because we wanted to see what would happen if photography and poetry were allowed to bounce off each other instead of politely staying in their own lanes. We liked the result, and now we can't stop. These books are small, independently made art projects. They exist because we like making weird, beautiful things.
Hopefully you're here because you, too, enjoy weird and beautiful things.
The primary rewards for this campaign will be print and digital copies of Shuttered Stanzas 1 - 3. However, that doesn't mean I didn't come up with any fun add-ons!

All orders are shipped through USPS and come with tracking. International backers are responsible for their own country's VAT or import taxes/fees. Due to new GDPR rules, we're currently unable to ship to countries within the EU. Sorry!
When shipping internationally we will make every effort to properly fill out customs forms. We will abide by your country's customs and shipping laws, which means we will denote the package value as the cost of your order, and mark it as merchandise. We are not responsible if your country holds your package and requires extra payment to release it.
