How does BackerKit crowdfunding work?

Crowdfunding is a collaborative way to bring ideas and projects to life. Project creators post their idea for a project, and backers pledge money to make the project possible. Backers get behind the scenes access and backer-only rewards, which can include exclusive products, special pricing, creative input, content, and more.

To become a backer, select a pledge level that features the reward(s) you would like to receive when the project is successfully completed and make your contribution.

All-or-nothing crowdfunding model: The creator sets a funding goal and a deadline to raise funds. If the project does not meet the goal by the deadline, backers credit cards are not charged and no money changes hands.

Crowdfunding projects can happen at various stages of the creative process. Make sure to check the estimated timeline of when rewards will be delivered. Project creators will keep you updated on the progress toward completion and delivery of your rewards.

Backing a crowdfunding campaign is not the same as purchasing an item from a store. When you back a campaign you are supporting the creation of something new. Rewards are almost always delivered, but are not guaranteed.

When will I be charged for my pledge?

Your payment method will not be charged right away. You will be charged for the amount of your pledge when the campaign ends and the project reaches its funding goal. You will not be charged if the campaign does not reach its funding goal.

What happens after the campaign is over?

The Creator will send out a survey that will ask you for more information about your pledge, your shipping information, additional items you may want to add to your pledge, and collect shipping fees if applicable.

The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge.

Any additional payment will be charged when you complete your survey and confirm your order.

Project FAQ

Can Teatime Adventures be adapted for 5E or other RPG systems?

Absolutely! Many players have successfully used the setting, lore, maps, spells, skills, and more to add a cozy twist to their regularly scheduled D&D/Pathfinder adventures!

What’s new in the second edition?

Some of the most significant rule changes include a complete rework of the Harmony Magic system as well as expanded leveling/advancement rules. In addition to rules revisions and streamlining, the second edition also includes new rules, spells, and skills for tea pets and pet management as well as several expansions to the Verdant Isles world and to the village of Oakenbend. These expansions include new lore, locations, NPCs, pets, recipes, and more.

Do the physical books come with free PDF copies?

Yes, if you pledge for a physical book, we will send you the PDF copy of that book as well!

Have you released adventures beyond those in Oakenbend?

Yes, we release new content for Teatime Adventures in our bimonthly cozy games and fiction magazine, Cozy Companion. Several new adventures and lore pieces have been released through Cozy Companion which explore the Verdant Isles beyond Oakenbend. Subscribing to Cozy Companion is the best way to stay up to date with new Snowbright content.

Will new Teatime Adventures content continue to be compatible with the first edition?

Yes, with some minor modifications you will be able to continue using your first edition books with any new Teatime Adventures content that comes out. We know that some people have grown to love the first edition Harmony Magic tile laying system, however others have had a difficult time getting the system to the table. After listening to feedback from fans, the new Harmony Magic dice pool system was created. New Harmony spells will use the second edition system but can be adapted for backwards compatibility with the first edition system, and it is our hope that the new system provides more immersion and quicker Harmony casting for everyone.

Which books do I need in order to play the Tea Pets version of the game?

Tea Pets can be integrated into your regular Teatime Adventures campaign or can be played standalone with just the Tea Pets book.

How does the Cozy Companion subscription add-on/pledge work?

Cozy Companion is Snowbright Studio’s cozy games and fiction magazine. The magazine publishes bimonthly (6 issues/year) and includes new adventures and lore for Teatime Adventures, ink, and Time Tails. The magazine also includes features such as profiles of game cafes, interviews with game designers, and board game reviews written by cats. Backers who pledge for a subscription to Cozy Companion will have their subscription start after they complete the pledge manager and confirm their subscription information on our website. If you would like access to Cozy Companion sooner, please subscribe directly on our website.

Will I be able to add on items later during the Backer Survey/pledge manager?

Yes! Backers who pledge $1 or more will be able to add items to their order in the pledge manager after the campaign has ended.

What items will be available in the pledge manager?

A list of add-ons is posted on the campaign page. At this time, we do not expect any other items to be added to that list.

Will loose leaf tea be available after the campaign?

We are working with our partner, Friday Afternoon, to make tea available for individual purchase to the general public after all backer orders have been fulfilled. We cannot guarantee availability of blends or a timeline for this. If you would like to guarantee that you receive tea, we recommend that you pledge at the Tea Party tier.

How do I get the prelaunch tea reward?

To get the prelaunch Rains of Starsong tea bonus, you must pledge for at least two physical books ($50) or more (such as a box set tier). If you pledge for the Tea Party or Snowbright Star set, you will receive your full bag of Rains of Starsong tea from your box set pledge as well as your bonus amount from your prelaunch reward. This offer is only available for backers who signed up for the prelaunch notification prior to the campaign going live on Sept. 12. Your prelaunch bonus will automatically be added to your shipment.

How big is the Rose Possum plush?

We are currently anticipating that the plush will be approximately 8" based on conversations with one of our manufacturers.

What if I forget to fill out the backer survey?

Please make sure that you add Snowbright and BackerKit to your safe senders for your email. We send multiple reminders and often post on social media as well as surveys come out and wrap up. If you do miss the survey, and we have already locked surveys please email us at [email protected] for other options for setting up your shipment. We cannot guarantee that we can fulfill your pledge if you do not fill out the survey on time.

When will you start sending out the games?

Please see the timeline listed on the campaign page. We expect to begin fulfillment by fall of 2024. We ship most packages from our warehouse in the southern United States. Your time to receive your package depends in part on your distance from our shipping location. When possible, we try to fulfill all pledge tiers at the same time, however if there are manufacturing delays on certain items we may split fulfillment. We try to send out PDF copies of products before physical fulfillment has begun so that you begin playing as soon as possible.

What do I do if there is something wrong with my items when they arrive?

Things can get bumped around in shipping! Please take photos of the problem and email us at [email protected] right away. Delays in contacting us about damaged items make it much more difficult for us to address the problem with shipping carriers.

Can I change my shipping address?

Yes! You will be able to change your address in BackerKit. If you need to change your address AFTER the pledge manager has been locked, please send an email to [email protected].

How often will we receive updates?

You may receive quite a few while the campaign is live! After that, expect monthly updates and special updates when there are exciting things to share!

Why is tax and shipping charged later?

Charging shipping and taxes during the pledge manager phase allows backers to make changes to their pledges, like adding extra items or upgrading to a new level. This also helps us ensure that we get the best pricing for shipping for our backers. We did include a shipping chart based on current expected shipping fees to give you a general idea of what you may be charged when shipping and tax is collected, but keep in mind that shipping prices can and do change suddenly.

The PDFs have been sent out, but I didn't get mine.

We send PDFs through DriveThruPRG. The first thing we recommend is checking your spam folder for the email as sometimes notifications go there. If it's not there, please email us at [email protected] and we will help sort it out!

Do you provide "friendly shipping" to my country?

Most international shipments will arrive directly to your door without additional fees due on arrival. Most international shipments will also require VAT to be paid in advance via the pledge manager after the campaign. Snowbright does not use the term "friendly shipping" due to differences in interpretation of the term. My country is not on the shipping list. Are you shipping there?

At this time, our project is not available for shipping directly to customers in your country if it is not on the shipping list. If you would like to see our products sold in your country, please contact your local game store and ask them to reach out to us or to their preferred distributor to request our games.
