We've got something new to share with you today!
Timothy Brown recently sat down with Andrew for the first in a series of short videos exploring the world, lore, and rules of Dragon Kings.
In this first episode, Timothy takes us back to Khitus's ancient history to explain who the Dragon Kings were, how they came to power, and what happened after they disappeared.

In our previous update, we mentioned that we wouldn't add additional written content to the books through stretch goals, and that remains our plan. The writing is complete, and we're committed to keeping production moving without introducing unnecessary delays.
Let's Clear Up 2E and DCC
We've also noticed some questions about the different rules systems being discussed, particularly 2E and Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC).
We want to make sure everyone knows exactly what's included in this campaign and what's being offered separately.
Our current campaign features the new 5.5E-compatible edition of Dragon Kings, with conversion rules for 2E included.
You do not need to back a separate campaign to receive the 2E conversion rules.
What About Dungeon Crawl Classics (DCC)?
We've also seen a lot of excitement surrounding a DCC-compatible version of Dragon Kings, and we're happy to share more about that!
Dragon Kings for Dungeon Crawl Classics is a separate project from designer John Watson, published by Rugby-Melee Games.
John has adapted Timothy Brown's world of Khitus for Dungeon Crawl Classics, bringing the setting to DCC's distinctive old-school rules system.
Timothy has been enthusiastic about the adaptation:

We've seen a few questions about stretch goals, particularly whether we'll be adding more adventures, rules, or other content to the books as the campaign progresses.
We won't be adding any book content through stretch goals during this campaign.
The books are already written - and we want a quick fulfillment.
We've decided to keep the book content as planned rather than add more writing and development work that could slow production.
But don't worry, we have a LOT more planned for Dragon Kings!
Plenty of stories remain to be told, and plenty of places left to explore in Khitus. We're excited to continue developing this world beyond the current campaign, and we want to give those future projects the time and attention they deserve.
For now, our focus is on delivering the Dragon Kings books and rewards we're bringing to you through this campaign.

Choose the pledge level that's right for you Scroll through the available pledge options and choose the one that has what you want. 4. Choose your add-ons if you want any Depending on your pledge, you'll have the opportunity to select additional Dragon Kings items and add-ons.

We’ve talked a lot about the world of Dragon Kings. Now it’s time to talk about adventuring in it.
The Agendas of Khitus is a collection of dark adventures that takes you into the desolate world of Khitus and through four forces competing to shape its future:
Coin. Faith. Magic. Mind.
Each agenda pulls the characters into a different corner of the conflicts unfolding across Khitus.
🥇 Agenda of Coin
A merchant named Thriyan hires the characters to transport a representative and items to a negotiation in Grand Torqal.
A job for a merchant sounds straightforward enough.
This is Khitus.
🙏 Agenda of Faith
The characters become entangled in a Shadazim’s crisis of faith.
With no clear answers, the players will need to investigate what is happening and perhaps save one man before he follows a dangerous path.
🔥 Agenda of Magic
A noblewoman hires the characters to track down a rake named Alketas and recover stolen funds.
But the job soon exposes the characters to the darker side of magic in Khitus, where sorcery is alive, dangerous, and rarely without consequences.
🧠 Agenda of Mind
At the edge of the known world, the characters fall into a trap.
Discovering its roots will reveal a dark secret behind the terrible fate that has befallen Khitus and may put the characters directly against a force intent on ruining the world.
Coin. Faith. Magic. Mind.
Four agendas. Four very different ways to begin discovering what is happening to Khitus.

I want to know more about Psionics. Does it have its own system in this or is it just another "magic" and treated exactly the same like in 5E? I truly feel Psionics needs it own separate distinct system to make it stand out. Otherwise, its no different than a wizard or sorcerer.

I was looking at the preview images for backgrounds, and it is referencing 2014 backgrounds and rules. The background lacks origin feats for example. Are we getting an actual dedicated 5.5e version of the rules fully embracing all of the changes or a somewhat updated 5e version?
