The Dragon Kings are gone, and the rains went with them. What remains of Khitus is sand, ruin, and the stubborn few who still believe it can be saved.

Dragon Kings is the classic expansion for Dark Sun®. Timothy Brown the award-winning co-creator of the Dark Sun® universe has reunited with Troy Denning, Brom, and TSR veterans Bill Slavicsek and Rich Baker to bring the brutal world of Khitus to 5.5E. Together they have refined and reimagined the dark and gritty RPG genre that they helped to create many years ago.

Originally written in 1992, Dark Sun® is a well loved classic of the rpg community. A brutal and gritty setting in a post-apocalyptic world with in depth lore, mechanics, and a unique twist on some of the typical fantasy tropes people expect.

Set in the savage world of Khitus, this spiritual successor to Dark Sun® takes those themes and ideas to the next level. Dragon Kings is a book that is both a campaign setting and a rulebook that contains everything you need to survive in the gritty desert. Written with rules for 5.5E, and including a conversion guide for 2E for those staying true to the original, you can venture into the savage wastelands using either rule system.

Over a millennium ago, great and powerful sorcerers wrested control of the world from the gods, choosing to divide the world and shepherd its people into a new era. Perhaps more benevolent than the gods that came before them, the Dragon Kings wielded power unlike any other to safeguard civilization and create an era of wealth and prosperity for many. And yet, their immortal reign could not last forever.

Something fundamentally shifted in Khitus after the Dragon Kings’ disappearance. Different factions have tried to fill that void as kingdoms and empires collapsed and the Godhunters were left scattered, but the truth is: Khitus is dying. The cities that survived became beacons of light in the gathering dark, as even demons and dragons retreated to their lairs. More than anything, Khitus needs heroes to lead the people into a new age.

With the Dragon Kings Rulebook you can become that hero. Become a Penmai, Krikis, or Cold Skin to fit into the weird and exotic world. Channel the power of the mind with a new Psionic class and any one of the new backgrounds, domains, and feats. Survive and impact the harsh landscape using new mechanics for water rationing, spell casting, Hope and Despair, and tons of new equipment and spells.

Start your travels into the desolate lands with The Agendas of Khitus. A two book collection of dark adventures that place you directly into the world and brings you through the agendas of coin, faith, magic, and mind.

Agenda of Coin: A merchant named Thriyan hires the characters to transport a representative and items to a negotiation in Grand Torqal.

Agenda of Faith: The characters become entangled in a Shadazim’s crisis of faith. With no clear answers, it will be up to the players to investigate what is going on, and perhaps save one man from a dangerous path.

Agenda of Magic: A noble woman hires the characters to seek out a rake named Alketas to return stolen funds. In reality, the characters are exposed to darker side of magic in Khitus.

Agenda of Mind: The characters fall into a trap on the edge of the known world. In discovering its roots, they will uncover a dark secret behind the terrible fate which befalls Khitus, and possibly set themselves against a force which seeks to ruin the world.

Timothy Brown designed Khitus. He spent many years at TSR, where he helped build the fantasy that broke away from green hills and rightful kings, and he has been developing this game for the last decade.

Also contributing to Dragon Kings are Brom, the artist who was a key visionary of the original Dark Sun® look, Troy Denning, fellow co-creator of Dark Sun®, and veteran TSR designers Bill Slavicsek and Rich Baker.

In addition, Strange Owl Games is publishing it and Studio 2 is shipping and delivering it. Both having extensive experience with crowdfunding campaigns, printing high quality books, and getting them delivered and into your hands to experience at your table.
