Project Update: Surveys Coming Soon and Progress Updates

Greetings Street Wolves! We've got some updates for you:

Surveys Are Coming Soon!

I've gotten really far in layout and writing, so I took some time to set up all the behind the scenes stuff on Backerkit. That means I'll be sending out the surveys soon. The first round is some smoke tests to make sure everything is working out okay. So if you get a smoke test survey, please fill it out in a timely manner! Once the smoke tests are done, then everyone gets their survey.

Progress!

Since the last update I finished my editing and have handed off the book to proofreader J Boone Dryden who returns to Table Cat Games. J Boone worked on Street Wolves: Turbo Edition, so it's great that we have him on board again.

We're still dealing with a bit of a delay with art as Nataly is very busy (and living in Ukraine), but we're still on track for our Q1 release. There's nothing critical that is missing at this point, but some really nice to haves are are in her list.

More Updates

I try to keep you informed here of goings on, but for more frequent updates on Heart of Glass and all that's going on with Table Cat Games, please consider following me elsewhere: Bluesky, Threads, Table Cat Games Discord, the Facebook page, or the Table Cat Newsletter (sign up on the home page).

Project Checklist

It might be helpful to have a running list of all the parts of this project, so let's outline them here:

  • Heart of Glass PDF (Savage Worlds)  - In Progress! In proofing stage.
  • Heart of Glass Print Edition (Savage Worlds) - PDF needs to be finished first
  • Heart of Glass PDF (System Agnostic) - Upcoming
  • Heart of Glass Foundry Module - Upcoming
  • Heart of Glass Cassette Tape - Upcoming

Other Table Cat Games News

Get a Fun Adventure and Help Ukraine!

Don't miss out on the "The Ultimate Red Rumble." It features the Street Wolves helping a Ukrainian wrestler rescue his family and joining him in a wrestling match where Team USA faces off against team USSR.

The adventure is Pay What You Want with 50% of the proceeds are going towards humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. As of this writing we're JUST shy of our $50 goal!

So please consider paying just a little bit for this one. The people of Ukraine have been hit really hard this winter and their freedom and survival is a cause I believe in. And Street Wolves artist Nataly who is working on Heart of Glass is Ukrainian! The other 50% of the proceeds are earmarked to pay her for more art, so all in all it's a win win for everyone involved.

It's available one Drive Thru RPG and itch.io.

And a big thank you if you've already purchased the adventure!

Our Next Game is Coming...

While not Street Wolves or Savage Worlds related, I'm happy to announce my next game I'm working on is Shadow in the Stars. It's a solo rpg inspired by Atari game art (if you couldn't have guessed by the cover). Travel deep into enemy sectors with one mission: destroy the enemy home world. As you battle your way through powerful enemy defenses and cosmic hazards you also face intense stress that threatens to shatter your mind. Recover lost memories and make shocking discoveries about yourself and the universe around you. Will you get the high score, be vaporized by enemy fire, or have a total stress collapse?

The Kickstarter pre-launch page is coming soon, but in the meantime you can sign up to the Table Cat Newsletter to get a heads up with updates on it and to know when it launches.

Project Update: Progress Update and Street Wolves News!

Buckle in Wolves, we have some new updates!

Progress!

All the writing is currently in the layout and I moved onto creating graphic assets such as blueprints (which can act like maps) and handouts. This release is the most blueprints/maps I've ever had to make. And there's quiet a few handouts as well.

Here's some sample page spreads. Sorry, most of the text is blurred out, it needs editing and proofing. Speaking of, I think I have one smaller map that I have to finish and then I'm going back and editing my draft. And then after that it goes to the proof reader!

One big news update is Meghan Caves recorded all the lines and did production work on the audio logs. They sound awesome! I can't wait for you to hear them.

As for the art, there's a bit of a delay with it as Nataly is very busy, but we're still on track for a Q1 release. At least digitally. I may put out a Beta version that's missing some art so you can get an early look at it, but we'll play that by ear.

Other Street Wolves News

While I have your attention, I want to point out two recent Street Wolves news items:

Street Wolves Case Files 001: The Ultimate Red Rumble

A new Street Wolves adventure, "The Ultimate Red Rumble" is out now. It features the Street Wolves helping a Ukrainian wrestler rescue his family and joining him in a wrestling match where Team USA faces off against team USSR.

The adventure is Pay What You Want and 50% of the proceeds are going towards humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. They've been hit really hard this winter, and their freedom and survival is a cause I believe in. And Street Wolves artist Nataly who is working on Heart of Glass is Ukrainian! The other 50% of the proceeds are earmarked to pay her for more art, so all in all it's a win win for everyone involved.

It's available one Drive Thru RPG and itch.io.

Street Wolves Dead Hand Foundry VTT

The Dead Hand campaign is now available for Foundry VTT as an adventure module! The Street Wolves are in a race against time with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

I put this one together to learn how to make an adventure module in Foundry, which is important for Heart of Glass, since there's going to be a Heart of Glass Foundry module. Now that I've had that experience, when I make the Heart of Glass version it'll be easier and quicker to do!

It's available one Drive Thru RPG and the Table Cat Shop.

Project Update: Progress Update: Writing

Hello all! It's been a bit since I've updated. There's been a whirlwind of activity at Table Cat Games and now that we're beyond the holidays and some big projects ended, it's time to update on Heart of Glass!

Progress!

About 95% of the text is in layout. My original draft of Heart of Glass was pretty quick to add since I had written a lot of it out already. The slower parts have been adding in more details and a few "side quests" that weren't in the original version and also some parts that I had noted that I had missed in during play testing.

I'm not sure if page counts are important to you, but it's looking like it will be around 60 some pages at this point, which is a bit shorter than Dead Hand for Street Wolves, but still pretty meaty.

What's mostly left for writing are some bits on the new faction and all the character stats that need to go in. So a lot of fiddly stuff. After that it's reading it through a bunch more times and then sending it off to the proofreader.

For those of you who got the system agnostic version, the plan is to get the Savage Worlds version all set and then work on system agnostic by stripping out and altering what needs to be stripped out and altered.

But anyway, not a lot to show visually, but we're making progress.

Speaking of visually, I'm making notes as I finish up writing for art I need to commission from Nataly (and stuff I need to make like maps). I'm hoping to pass the commissions over soon.

There's no timeline yet on a release date, but we're still shooting for Q1 of this year.

Music
I thought I'd share that I put together a playlist on Spotify of music I'm listening to while working on Heart of Glass. If you'd like to listen to it or recreate it in your favorite music player, you can find it here

Project Update: We did it! Heart of Glass funding is done! What's next?

Greetings all! Crowdfunding for Heart of Glass is finished and we've raised a lot more than I expected. Thank you.

Phase 2 Begins

The next phase of the project will start almost immediately. I'm going to be putting all the pages of notes into layout, where I'll finalize the writing into a more publishable form (I kind of do a hybrid writing/layout approach). As I finish the writing I'll be creating graphic assets as I go along, like maps and blueprints and whatever else may spring up.

I'll also in contact with Nataly as I discover opportunities for art that I can commission. And once I feel like the writing is complete I'll have a final script to send on over to Meghan to get it recorded.

I don't have a set schedule or a good estimate in mind right now when Heart of Glass will be finished. Things take as long as they need to take. However, it's my #1 priority of stuff to work on, so rest assured it'll be getting the TLC it needs.

tldr; Hang on tight, I'm getting to work on Heart of Glass and it'll be done as soon as possible!

Stuff For You To Do

There will also be surveys that come out for you to fill out to give me info I need to fulfill everything. Those usually take awhile (and are a lot of work), so they won't be coming out right away. Please keep an eye out for them, but I'll also give a heads up here when they're out.

Future Updates

I plan on doing updates here at least once a month. I try not to do to spam you with too many of them and lots of times there's not a lot new to report other than "I'm working on it."  If you want more insights on how things are going, please consider following Table Cat Games elsewhere: Bluesky, Threads, Table Cat Games Discord, the Facebook page, or the Table Cat Newsletter (sign up on the home page).

Project Recap

With ongoing updates I'll be tagging this list onto them so we know what's done, what needs doing, and what has been fulfilled:

  • Heart of Glass Street Wolves Edition: PDF on deck; Print to do
  • Heart of Glass System Agnostic Edition PDF: to do
  • Heart of Glass Physical Cassette Tape: to do
  • Heart of Glass Foundry Module: to do

Wrapping Up

I just want to say again thank you. I know you have a lot of gaming options and this is a active time of year for buying things, so it means a lot to me that you'd support Table Cat Games. You're helping to make the dream happen! Stay rad!

Project Update: Project Update 4: A Secret Stretch Goal Unlock For My Birthday (and 100 Backers)

Hello backers and those interested in Heart of Glass. Today is my birthday! To celebrate it and that we reached the very cool milestone of 100 backers, we have a secret stretch goal unlock! Heart of Glass Foundry adventure module is now available as a pledge tier or as add-on.

I recently added the Street Wolves Foundry module and Heart of Glass for Foundry is a supplement for it. What'll it contain? It'll have the full adventure, all the NPCs as actors, the audio files, and any assorted handouts and tables. The Foundry module is the best way to play Street Wolves online and the only way I play it, so I won't just building it for you, but for me to use too!

Also, due to popular demand I added more of the physical cassette tapes, so that mean the bundle tier and the one that comes with a tape are currently available.

Thanks again for everyone who has backed or shared the campaign!
