As mentioned by Hannah Wiebe, the horrific crossbreed of the Rat Queens author and his co-creation, art is being made, and so we have some time before we need to lock in orders and get our final numbers. As we're aiming for December to be art complete, that gives us another near two months for folks to finish their survey, make any changes necessary before the campaign moves into production.

We will leave Pledge Manager and the Pre-Order store open until end of December, and everyone will receive anotice and an update 48 hours before everything is locked down.

Still, if you have not completed Pledge Manager or purchased at the Pre-Order store, the sooner the better for us running and managing the campaign! Please complete as soon as you can!

For those who chose this option, you will not receive your survey until you have completed payment, since we have received a few messages about not seeing one being sent to them. You will have time, like others, to complete your survey, including add-ons and more. Please see Backerkit's FAQ regarding this service.

We are back to work and currently in the process of doing the final pass on all the character action cards, which we can share now! A quick look at the progress before sharing the starting deck for Hannah! On display are the three phases, the first being where the game was at when we took over in 2024.

Important note: In the final pass and in the following cards, all UI is temporary and we are speaking with an experienced board game graphic designer to help us out so Roc and I can focus on the writing and art. Here's Hannah's starting deck!

 

We've lowered our overall need of 800 units sold to 650. We would be able to still earn some money on them at this rate, but the margins are much lower. Overall, we'd like to have these made and potentially open up higher print runs in the future if we ever have a need to do so. 650 is where it will remain, however. We're just shy of 100 short, so if you planned to get them, now's the time!

You should be receiving your survey by this time or shortly after this update. This survey will take you to the Pledge Manager, where you will complete your order. Remember, you have already paid for your base pledge.

This is your final opportunity to purchase any add-ons you might've missed during the campaign, including the Rat Queens 32mm miniatures that were added in the final hours. We do have an 800 mimimum order on this particular add-on, to be a responsible campaign addition.

Our closing date for Pledge Manager is November 6th at 12pm PST. Please be sure to complete your order before this date as we need to collect our final order numbers and prepare for the production phase as we complete the art assets for the game.

The STL files are now connected to the STL add-on. Check your order, you should have access to the files already or when you finalize your pledge. Currently, we have all five queens without supports, and they have been tested by artist Elena Manzano, but we are waiting for the files with supports to be tested before sending those out. We should have those completed by end of next week or early the following week.

We are moving into the next phase of the campaign, which is where we will be sending out surveys to your email that will take you to the Pledge Manager to complete your order. This is an opportunity to purchase any add-ons you may have missed, including the 32mm miniatures we added to the campaign in the final hours, or upgrade your pledge to a higher Tier for new backers. (we have an 800 unit minimum order for the miniatures, so be sure to add them if you want them!)

Due to international tensions, we are not charging shipping at this time, and once we are moving into fulfillment (mid-2027), we will be sending out a notification to pay your shipping then.

We are sending out a smoke test for 5% of backers to make sure everything is working properly. If you receive a notification, please respond as soon as possible so we can make adjustments and then open the Pledge Manager wide to all backers. Last week we did a soft-launch of our Patreon for Talespinner Studio. It is a place where we will be sharing our other work outside Rat Queens, what is coming up in the year ahead as well as more personal work from both Shannon and I.

Yes, we added miniatures in the very last few hours due to a last minute pricing update from Panda Games! We know many have missed that window and the campaign ended, but we will be opening Pledge Manager in the coming weeks (October 19th is on the calendar!).

You will be able to add the miniatures or any other add-ons you might have missed, or even if you decide you want to upgrade your pledge, you may do so there as well! Note: We need to reach a threshold of 800 units sold to go forward, we are currently just under 300. Let's get these made!
