Project FAQ
We will charge shipping in the post-project survey after the project closes. Your specific shipping fee will be based on the final weight of your order and your location - the packed weight for the box kits should be around 2.8 lbs. Please factor the estimated shipping costs (detailed in the project) into the total price of the reward if you are reserving a box kit; the other reward tiers are all digital delivery, and so will not have shipping costs.
After the project closes, BackerKit allows two weeks to process all the payments and transfer the funds. Once we receive the project funds, we send the backer surveys. This will allow us to get mailing addresses for folks who got box kits, which will be getting packed and ready to ship during that time. The first round of email fulfillment for printable project files or digital subscriptions will be sent out in the first week of April, and the box kits by around the middle of April.
We ship via USPS. For US-based backers that means your package will be delivered to you mailbox by your mail person. For international backers that means that our US Postal Service gets the package to your country and then your local post delivers to you.
That is the plan, and the impetus behind this particular campaign. By starting with one box kit for the Celtic style stories, we're laying the groundwork for being able to have do-it-yourself kit products for the whole series over the next year that will be available through the Tamburn Manor site, and a reusable format for subsequent story cycles. Your feedback will be very helpful!
Yes; that is another goal we have that we're getting started with this campaign. The Knight of the Round Table tier will form the basis for this content, which will be available first (and throughout the year) as digital print-it-yourself art for illuminating and collecting, but will also be available through the Tamburn Manor site as a monthly letter subscription program "Letters from Camelot" beginning in April or May of this year. Backers who sign up now for the digital subscription through this campaign will be able to get started early and will get a discount code if they want to upgrade at that time for the hard-copy monthly letter program. You'll be able to find that at https://www.tamburnmanor.com in the next couple of months if you're interested.
The $100 subscription level is for all the courses and the 6 story book files over the next 12 months. There is no physical kit available for the whole program at this time; the kit we're funding with this project is sort of a prototype for just the first two story books. There would eventually be two other kits in the series, one for the Romanesque stories and one for the Gothic ones, but those are a few months off down the road. If you want to do the whole program in hard-copy kit form, go with just the box kit now (which includes the first 1/3 of the digital subscription program) and the subsequent box kits should be available on the tamburnmanor.com site by the time you're done with the first box.

BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
