We just reached 300% funding on The Arcanist's Fantasy Magazines 2026! Thank you all so much for the support. 

Now, we're less than $500 away from our second stretch goal, which adds a new story by M. Stern to Mordschlag #0!

Many excellent pulp magazines have a face, a mascot of sorts to guide the reader through the magazine experience.

Enter LORD MORD, who will be our intrepid narrator of Mordschlag Sword and Sorcery Magazine.

But exactly who is Lord Mord? All we know so far is that he was felled in battle after a knight's crossguard punctured his helm. Everything else is a blur, Lord Mord is still regaining his memories, and we need your help to help him remember!

What is the name of Lord Mord's castle? Backers will decide! Vote on your favorite castle name for Lord Mord in the poll below! 

We're nearing our next stretch goal at $12,500! When we make it there, we will add to Mordschalg Issue #0 a wild new novelette-length tale by M. Stern, author of the excellent Weird S&S collection, Kingdoms Trembling! 

This is an exciting addition; I'm a huge M. Stern fan after reading Kingdoms Trembling. I've recently published a glowing review of the book and interviewed Stern on the latest episode of the Rogues in the House podcast. 

I know y'all will love his unique approach to heroic tales. Let's smash this stretch goal and secure Stern's place in our debut.

We did it! We've reached and surpassed $10,000! The Literary Fantasy Magazine will now be furnished with double the interior illustrations and we'll print double the monster pages in Mordshlag's Menagerie Macabre.

Now, we can look toward broader horizons... expanding the fiction.

When we hit $12,500, I will announce a new story that will be added to Mordschlag Issue #0 by a fantastic S&S author... we'll let you know who soon, so stay tuned!

  

Howdy folks!

We're not even 24 hours into this campaign and we're approaching 200% funding... that's insane! We're also thrilled that our partners, Old Moon Publishing, are now fully funded for Seers in a Broken Season. Remember to back them to lock in your free combo-zine! 

Our first stretch goal will hit at $10,000. When we get there, we will DOUBLE the art in The Literary Fantasy Magazine from two to four full page illustrations. 

We'll also make more Shadowdark monsters for Mordschlag's Menagerie Macabre column. So far, we have two pages of monsters designed for each issue, and we'll double that to four pages of monsters per issue.

We're only just beginning, folks! Please share the campaign with your wizard-loving (or loathing) friends and family and let's charge into the sunset, together!
