Absolutely not, AI is a scourge on the TTRPG industry as much as any other. Every piece of art, paragraph of prose, and balance of dice is done by hand. We are as passionate about this industry as you and we want our work to reflect that rather than trying to flip AI slop for a profit as we always will.

Lodestar is primarily intended to be used with the 5th Edition of D&D and right now there are no plans to convert it to any other systems. However should Lodestar catch your eye there is still plenty to enjoy in an entirely system agnostic way. While the ship system will function in familiar ways to those comfortable with 5e and 2024, we are building it to be as 'plug and play' as possible so it can be ripped wholesale for all your spacefaring needs whatever the system!

Yep! Once the post campaign surveys hit your inbox you can upgrade to whichever tier you want and just be charged the difference between your current tier and the new one. If you back during the first 48 hours you can retain your discount by moving to a different discounted tier!

If you backed in the first 48 hours and have other physical goods in your pledge it will be automatically added to your basket in the pledge manager! If you backed in the first 48 hours at a digital tier and would still like the d20 you can still grab it but will need to pay the shipping fee, just email us at [email protected] with your pledge email and shipping address and we can get it added on for you! (once the pledge manager goes live!)

Backing with the same backerkit account as you've used previously will automatically add the PDF to your pledge manager when we distribute it!

If you reserved precampaign the digital rewards will be added to your pledge manager for all backers and the collectors coin and art card will be added to physical backers! If you're a digital only backer and still want to get your hands on the physical goodies just chuck us an email at [email protected] and we can get it added on for you! Faerie was our first project run entirely through Backerkit (our previous campaign ran on Kickstarter) and every new platform migration will come with various learning curves. This time around we're far more adept at making the most of this platform and all of its various features mostly meaning we can communicate with our community alot easier! Also due to various factors Faerie brought in a whole new audience for us so dealing and interacting with a community of your size was a skill we had to learn on the job but we're confident in our ability to keep you in the loop and up to date with the project relevant information!

The Space Fantasy setting being evoked in Lodestar is something we are huge fans of! From various Anime like Harlock: Space Pirate and Gurren Lagann to the classics like Ice Pirates and Firefly. The fusion of a maritime aesthetic against the back drop of space is something that we really want to shine through in Lodestar. Also we are massively in love with the Piratey aesthetic (as fans of our first project Tempest will attest!) and draw special inspiration from some of the classics in this genre like The Secret of Monkey Island and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag!

As of right now the US tariff situation is in constant flux and we are keeping a close eye on it. With Lodestar shipping a year away, the best thing we can do right now is wait to see how it develops rather than take hasty or drastic solutions that may negatively effect your experience. BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.

If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.

Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.

Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.

You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.

Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
