November 2026

Eons ago, a steel dwarf ship crash-landed on a garden manifold rich in iridoss. Over time, the ship's prototype valok fabricator flooded the world with advanced machines — machines that have lain dormant since their creation. But when a psionic signal reaches Orden and tears open a passageway between the planes, it'll take heroes to brave this strange new world, breach the horizon, and protect its secrets from those who would exploit them.

Ex Machina is a book of construct-themed options for MCDM’s tactical cinematic heroic fantasy TTRPG, Draw Steel, a joint effort by community members Jenny [REDACTED] (Across the Solar Expanse), Jonas Tintenseher (The College of Infinite Reflections), and Zetesofos (The Magewright). It features subclasses like the Alloy Beastheart and Voltaic Fury, new technological rewards and a streamlined component-based crafting system, and a full 1st-to-4th-echelon monster bestiary inspired by the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Avishkar from Magic: The Gathering, and Transformers.

But that’s not all! We’ve teamed up with some other great designers to bring you even more science-fantasy goodness in this bundled crowdfunder:
  • Echo’s Cybernetic class, a cyborg hero routing power through their implants to overclock their abilities.
  • Ritehunter’s Stormrider class, a motorcycle-riding speed demon who builds adrenaline as they zip around the battlefield.
  • Warning: Heavy Machinery, a set of campaign frameworks and construct bestiaries for various other science-fantasy genres.

Join us on November 10th to breach the horizon and upgrade your game!
