Those of you who backed the crowdfund should already be able to download your ebook and any other digital rewards via Backerkit, but you'll get a reminder when the campaign ends and everything is marked as fulfilled.
So what about the paperbacks?
I've finally received the art for the paperback version. I'm now waiting on a delivery of the proof so I can ensure it meets my quality standard. As soon as I receive it, I'll update you all again with some photos, and begin delivery of those paperbacks to backers!

The Chosen One Con eBook!
This ebook ended up being about 600 pages long, give or take your ereader's settings, so enjoy at your leisure! As always, if you have any issues with the ebook or spot any errors, please do reach out.
It has taken years of blood, sweat, tears, blue wine, and magical drugs to make it this far, but I've truly loved working on this book and hope you enjoy it too. And if you do manage to get through all those pages, consider dropping a review ahead of its official release date on September 1st! Reviews are the lifeblood for indie authors such as myself.
The next step on the road to completion is to finish the paperback version. For this, I will be in touch with the cover artist to get that paperback wrap done (which relies on the final page count) and will then update you when it's ready to be shipped. We're almost at the end of this campaign now.
In the meantime, you may be interested to know that I'm launching a new crowdfund campaign as part of The Book Bazaar 2026 for a 5th anniversary special edition of The Thirteenth Hour, the first book in my Cruel Gods series of gaslamp fantasy. The Chosen One Con is now available to preorder on Amazon for those who missed out on the crowdfund campaign, though it will also be launching on Kobo, Itch.io and other online stores.
Of course, if you backed the crowdfund and pledged for either the ebook or paperback version of The Chosen One Con, then your copy of the book will be made available a whole month early! I'm aiming to send you the ebook version on 1st August (or just before) with the paperbacks due to follow shortly after once I've ensured their quality.
Hi everyone! Just a little fun update. While I wait for my editor to work her magic, I've been plotting out the sequel to The Chosen One Con, which I can officially reveal will be titled The Lies of Magic. But also! I recently commissioned the incredibly talented S. Jean to design some chapter header images and a divider that will be used for the paperback version of The Chosen One Con, and also the ebook version where possible.

Header images will appear under each chapter title per POV, so you'll know exactly which POV you're in! We'll be exploring The Chosen One Con under four POV's, including our MC's Max and Lyle, and Max's sister, Hope. You'll have seen their likeness within this campaign. But who is our mysterious fourth POV? 👀
I can't wait to get stuck into the edits for this book, and hopefully my next update will be progress on that! Hi everyone! It's been a hot minute - literally, as I'm suffering a heatwave in the UK right now - but it's time for a small update!
Everyone with the relevant tiers should have received their backer rewards for digital rewards and physical prints, as well as any add-on books by now. If you're still missing these, or have any issues with them, please get in touch and I'll sort you out.
All that's left is to finish the book! Beta readers have finished reading through The Chosen One Con, and I've already implemented their feedback. Here are some reactions from betas:

I absolutely love .... the politics so far (and how you weave current political hot topics into a fantasy world)
I'm pleased to say that The Chosen One Con is now with my lovely editor! While she is working away, I'll be plotting out the sequel (because this is a duology!) and preparing to get this book ready for backers in August with a general sale a month after release. I really can't wait to introduce you to Max and Lyle's story.
