Hey all, still awaiting final revision notes and one more piece of art work. Should be soon! I'm eager to get this thing printed and into my hands and yours. I'm already gearing up for my next projects (a Scooby-Doo inspired Cthulhu Eternal adventure AND the next adventure in this setting) but I'll save any more words on that until these funnels are out.
Books are nearing completion. I await feedback from two advance readers, and Gino is nearly done with the two remaining pieces of art (maps for each adventure). I think that means we are on track to ship end of June/early July, assuming that Mixam prints take the usual two weeks.
Backers should have the v0.8 PDFs distributed as digital downloads now through Backerkit. I don't estimate much changing in the text at this point; minor additions, clarifications and typo-corrections at most.
PDF's are three separate files (some of you receive two if you didn't back for two adventures) but as a reminder, the printed copy you receive will be a single volume. The printed copy will include Sisterhood of the Splintered Bone, This Rose Will Never Die, and a rules supplement.
If you download and read the books and find a typo or feel that something isn't right, I have a google form setup to collect feedback: https://forms.gle/YRRrmMKTyDRzxEwH7
As of now, expect surveys to lock in about 10-14 days and another message keeping you all in the loop at that point.
Important: Three of you haven't completed your surveys! Please do so when you can. I will need to lock surveys to received final funds for shipping, and at that point it will be a bit more work to get you your books. Addresses can be updated until I ship.
It's been a few weeks since campaign end. Much progress has been made; I just wrapped up layout and art has begun to trickle in. I've attached some previews of art to the "backer only" portion of this update so you folks can check it out.
Post layout update: the book I imagined to be forty pages is now ninety, so the specifications I provided in the campaign need adjusting. The book will now be perfect bound at Mixam as I feel that 90 pages is a bit long for saddle stitching. But, at that format and page count, color printing is actually cheaper, so the book will feature a mix of color and black and white art.
Going forward: I expect to send out the surveys to Backerkit for approval within the next few days, and from there we will trickle them out to you folks. I am waiting on two additional full page pieces of art, the map for each adventure. I will be forwarding my layout complete manuscript to a few trusted readers and taking their feedback and making corrections. After that, I'll be sending a PDF proof out to you folks for two weeks, ordering a proof, and then, fingers crossed, making the final orders and shipping. I think we are well on track for the July delivery!
I am working on the survey now and will be sending surveys through the Backerkit pledge manager in approximately 2 weeks.
Gino and I are hard at work finishing up the book and working on production details now - expect to hear more from me soon, but for now, thank you everyone!
We hit our big $1000 goal, so everyone is getting a copy of Safeworm! Amazing!
I am still hard at work finalizing the content and layout of the two zines. Gino has shared early drafts of some interior art from as well, and it looks great.
In other news, I have received sticker art!
Everyone with a physical order will receive a logo sticker produced by the amazing MG Posani:
A Perilous House
And free to Early Bird backers + available as an add-on to everyone else is this sticker, by cover and interior artist Gino Vasconcelos.
