Frogs on the Hunt is a shared pond puzzle where the group you choose matters as much as the frog you move. Pick a lily pad, count the frogs on it to set your actions, then leap with a red, green, or golden frog. Each color moves differently.

Use your actions to catch insects, take tadpole cards, or feed a tadpole for points. At the end of your turn, scatter the frogs left behind onto nearby lily pads, rebuilding the puzzle for the next player. A strong turn scores for you without leaving an even better opportunity for someone else.

Edit

Different Frogs, Different Jumps
Red frogs move one adjacent space, green frogs move two spaces in a straight line, and golden frogs move three spaces in any direction. Choosing the right frog opens routes the others cannot reach.

More Frogs, More Actions
The number of frogs on your chosen lily pad determines how many actions you receive. A crowded pad can create a powerful turn, but using it also changes the board for everyone else.

Catch Insects or Feed Tadpoles
Flies, dragonflies, butterflies, and bees are worth points, but they can also be used to feed tadpole cards. Bees work as wilds by value, giving you flexibility when a card is almost complete.

Every Turn Changes the Pond
Before passing the turn, scatter the frogs left on your starting pad to adjacent lily pads. The groups keep changing, so every player begins with a new puzzle created by the turn before.

Choose Your Pad

The goal is to finish with the most points from the insects you keep and the tadpoles you successfully feed.
Choose a lily pad and place the Rush Marker on it. Count the frogs there before moving; that number is how many actions you will have this turn.

Take the Leap

Move one frog from the chosen pad. Red frogs move 1 adjacent space, green frogs move 2 spaces in a straight line, and golden frogs move 3 spaces in any direction.
A golden frog cannot use the same lily pad twice during its jump. Frogs can never land on or jump over a reed tile.

Perform Pond Actions

Use the action count provided by your starting pad. You may perform your actions in any order, and you may repeat the same action.
Each action lets you catch 1 insect from your landing pad, take a face-up tadpole card or the top card of the deck, or feed a tadpole from your hand by paying its required insects. Bees can substitute by point value.

Scatter and Restock

To end your turn, move every frog still on the starting pad to an adjacent lily pad. This changes the groups and the choices waiting for the next player.
Before round 2, add 2 random insects to each empty lily pad; from round 3 onward, add 3, and refill empty flower tiles with bees. When the final insect leaves the bag or the final bee is placed, play one last round.
