Rereading from the start again in preparation for the next book coming out, and some things I've put together about Edgar from the first 3 books. It is possible that the reason Ivy House recruited Edgar is that he reads all the languages that the 1st instruction book is written in, including Sanskrit. Before Ivy House Edgar has never had a support system. -Despite being powerful enough to turn into insects (not something just any ol vampire can do), Edgar says he was never high enough socially to be invited to meet the VIPs. That's why he gets so excited that the actual Alpha has come to visit him. -He was sent out to kill dangerous creatures in the hopes that he would be killed. Thankfully for Jessie's sake those skill come in very handy, but poor Edgar.
