Writer/Artist Fletcher Hanks (active from 1939 to 1941) has been called “the most twisted comic artist all times.” Hanks created THE HEADLESS ONES as villains for his hero SPACE SMITH (a very Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon-esque space patroller) in the comics story “The Thinker,” first published in issue #4 of FANTASTIC COMICS (March 1940).
