Backerkit is a crowdfunding platform similar to Kickstarter and Indigogo. It is a way for you, to help an artist, creator, inventor, or dreamer bring a project to life. Many projects are held back due to the up-front cost such as manufacturing, and crowdfunding is a way to help fund those costs. Without amazing people like you, projects like this and many others would never be brought to life!
💲How Does Payment Work?💲
Backerkick works on a pledge now, pay later basis. If the project fails to become fully funded for the initial goal, then you are not charged for it. If the campaign hits its goal, then you will be charged after its conclusion for your initial pledge and add-ons, during the survey you will be charged shipping. Until the campaign ends you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your pledge.
💎 How Do I Pick My Rewards? 💎
Once the campaign concludes and if it is fully funded, then surveys will be sent out. During these surveys, you will be able to make final add-ons and select your pins and other pledged rewards. Surveys are also important because they supply me with your shipping details. No information collected will be distributed outside of it's sole use to make sure your rewards make it to you.
📦 Why am I being charged again in the survey? 📦
The survey is both where the additional cost of add-ons as well as shipping are calculated. You are not being charged for your pledge again, but are paying for any added items and the cost of shipping. If your payment failed during the first round of collections, you can also resolve that payment problem during the survey too.
Bundle Project Shipping: Due to the current cost of shipping and the fact that these are Mini Pins, if you would like to bundle this project's rewards with another project that you also pledged for but have not received, I can hold the other pledge reward back and ship them together. In that case, you would put a credit onto the account after the project closes and surveys go out; that should cancel the cost of shipping on this project.
For example, if you pledged to the Mimic Bag, I would hold your bag until these pins arrived and ship both out together.
I will put a question in the survey so that it is easiest on everyone.
Hello Everyone! I'm Dakota, the artist and creator behind Wayward Enigma Designs. I love drawing, playing video games, and learning more about the world through documentaries.
What made you become an artist? I'm a stage 4 cancer survivor and find that this experience changed how I view and interact with the world. It was always my dream to do art, I even attempted to go to art school before leaving for personal reasons to study business instead. My love of art never went away. After my diagnosis, I promised myself I'd work for my dreams if I survived. And I did! My art business is a promise to myself, and a way to send my art all over the world! So if anything ever happens, I can leave the world knowing I left an artistic handprint behind.
Did you go to art school? I did for one semester, but due to personal reasons left, so I moved back home and studied business instead.
Do you do art full-time? I wish, and one day I hope to. For now, I work in fiscal services by day and work on my art at night and weekends!
Do you go to events? I do! In 2025, I did and will do many events in Illinois. In 2026, I hope to slowly expand to further shows!
