Characters are the heart of a story, so I enjoy stories with characters that feel as if they could be real people, even if they can do magic.
Among a long list of stories like this my most favorite isn’t even a book. Best three in no particular order are:
Yumi and the nightmare painter (Brandon Sanderson)
Rhythm of War (Brandon Sanderson)
Outerwilds (Möbius Studios)
PS: outerwilds should not be researched. Buy, play, then research. The game is way too good to ruin it with spoilers, it also can’t be played if it’s been spoiled too much so going in blind is the best way to play.
