Retired airline pilot, after serving 45 years with twelve airlines and flown eleven different types of airliners and during the course of my flying career, I also designed over a dozen products and developed five products to production level. Today, the risks have escalated, with knife-wielding terrorists targeting civilians in major cities, resulting in life-threatening injuries or death. Since 2010, stabbing attacks have risen due to easily accessible knives, minimal training requirements, and ineffective regulation. Social media has amplified fundamentalism, leaving travelers and everyday citizens vulnerable to unexpected, life-threatening situations.
