Mother of 5 children, I began reading the Fabelhaven series with my oldest daughter as a young girl as the first book came out. We met the author at a book fair at our school and we were immediately excited about the book. Upon meeting the author a second time he commented on my daughter's name which was Alyssa and mentioned he liked it and might have to use it for a character in a future book. Later my daughter had a chance to ask him about a character in his book by that name and asked if it was named after her. He laughed and said it must be. We have a book sign with a message in the book stating the character was named after her. I read the entire series with each of my children.
