Arnie Benn is an author, scientist, and entrepreneur whose work explores the intersection of science, human nature, and the possibilities of our future.
Raised in Kimberley, South Africa, and living in the United States since 1990, he holds degrees in chemistry and music and is a principal and founding member of The Quantum Bicycle Society (Quicycle), an international physics think tank investigating foundational questions about matter, energy, and the structure of the physical world.
His fiction includes The Intrepid: Dawn of the Interstellar Age, a character-driven hard-science-fiction adventure about humanity’s first journey to another star. His nonfiction book The Animal In The Mirror explores the hidden influence of our survival instincts on emotion, thought, relationships, and the societies we create.
Across both science and storytelling, Arnie is interested in the same underlying question: What might humanity become if we learn to understand ourselves—and our universe—a little better?
