Hello! My name is Doreen. I'm a 29 year old artist from The Netherlands. I've been running roundbirbart since 2020 and became a full-time bird artist in 2023! Over the years I've designed pins of both rare and common birds.

Back 3 or more projects in "Pin Safari" and you'll get this round cardinal polaroid sticker from me, as well as the polaroids from the other projects you backed. When threatened, killdeer parents will try to lead predators away from their nest by doing a broken wing display. The predator will shift focus and follow the parent around, until it is deemed far enough away from the nest, at which point the killdeer will effortlessly fly off. Backers who back for 4 pins or more will receive this freebie pin set!
Time to meet the birdies! There are 17 goals to unlock in this campaign. Each goal unlocks a new set of pins. Unless stated otherwise, the pins will be hard enamel, made out of gold plated zinc alloy. Each pin comes with two posts with rubber clutches. They will also have a back stamp, and come on a backing card. The pins range in sizes from 30mm to 60mm.
Goal 1 also unlocks the killdeer freebie set! If you back Birds of North America for 4 pins or more, you will get both mama killdeer and her baby for free. If you like the killdeer set but are not planning to pledge for 4+ pins, you can also select it as a pledge reward during your survey.
Some North American birds I already made as pin will be available as add-on during the campaign. Note: These designs can only be purchased as an add-on, not as a regular reward.
Shipping is collected during the survey, after the campaign is over. Make sure to budget in the estimated shipping cost! Rewards will ship from the Netherlands.
Combined shipping with Frogtastic Frogs We’re offering combined shipping for those of you who back both Birds of North America and our partner project. Since Appeltjesgroen and I are locals we will meet up and do the bulk of the fulfillment together. We will bundle all of your pins into one package and only charge shipping costs on one of the campaigns. Those who opt in will be charged for shipping on Birds of North America, and will have their shipping fees waived on Frogtastic Frogs.
You will be able to opt in for combined shipping after the campaign, during the survey.
Tariff information for US backers Different from last year are the tariffs. We will collect and remit these tariffs for you, so that you won't be surprised with an additional tariff bill upon receiving your package. The items in this campaign have China as its country of origin. Currently, tariffs on enamel pins of Chinese origin are set to 35.5%. However, this is subject to change. Tariffs will be collected during the survey, so please take into account this extra charge.
This campaign will run for 3 weeks, after which the surveys are sent out. These surveys allow you to specify which pins you want to receive. After two weeks, the funds will become available to me and I will place the final order with my manufacturer. The rest of the timeline is estimated with realistic buffers - I hope to ship everything out during or before June.
