Gnawesome Predators is here to fund pin sets composed of 2 parts: large animal pins, and small meat magnets. The animals have posts and rubber clutches to use them just like most pins, but they also have a magnetic anchor point on the back that allows a magnet to be attached to the animal's mouth! The meat magnets are very small and can be placed on that magnetic anchor point. There is no hole, indentation, or clip, so the front appearance of the large pin is not changed in any way. Both the pin and magnet are done in a beautiful hard enamel with silk screen detailing to give them a cohesive finish. Magnets from one animal can also be used on any other, or on anything else that accepts magnets!
Most pins will have the mouth as the only anchor point! We're looking in to the possibility of giving some multiple anchor points, but this is not a guarantee. The art on a small number of some animals might make it more reasonable to put the anchor point somewhere other than their mouth, like the werewolf. Anchor points are not 1:1 finalized since the exact point has to be determined in manufacturing but the end effect will be the same. If you're not keen on keeping the meat magnets on you can stick them on anything any other magnet can be put on!
$2K gets this project off the ground. Our initial goal covers a multitude of things! It takes care of not only the first pin but all the freebies, Backerkit fees, and shipping materials for fulfillment. It also includes our built-in buffer to help protect the project from failure in case of unexpected expenses, such as tariffs increasing costs, shipping increases, or materials jumping up in price. After this point unlocking more pins becomes a lot easier! Every $500 is a new pin set made available, all the way up to $10,000. With the 2 freebie sets available included that adds up to a whopping19 sets total!
If we manage to unlock everything and there is still a lot of time left or we're far overshooting our goals, then alternative pin colors will be considered. If that also goes further than expected we will look at making mini plush.
We unlocked every original stretch goal in the first 6 hours! These alt color stretch goals all use the same molds as the originals, but with a different coat of paint. Many have a different finish to their metal as well, but they are all still hard enamel! The meats are not changed, only the animals.
An exclusive campaign add-on! Order additional mini meat magnets of any unlocked design à la carte! Once the campaign is over these magnets will only be available in sets with their matching animal, so if you want a bunch to mix and match or to use for other magnet purposes backing the campaign will give you the most availability. Check the stretch goals to see what designs are unlocked! Individual animal pins are not available for purchase and will not be made available.
Every animal is available as a sticker, regardless of unlock or type! Just in case there are designs you love a fair amount, but not enough to get the pin set. These will be 3 inches, so a bit bigger than most of the pins (smaller for those with wings though.) They'll be waterproof but not a good choice for outdoor use! They are just the animals, meats do not come with them. All pin designs are available, including the potion dragon and cannibal unicorn!

Choose between a fried egg or t-bone steak for our mini meat pouches, or get a grilled 2-bone or haunch as a plush keychain! The keychains have 2 different key ring attachments in one so you can attach them as you prefer. The mini meat pouches have loops on one side to allow them to be attached to a lanyard!
These are technically freebie sets! However if you are determined to get them and do not meet the requirements for receiving them there is still hope. They cost more than the regular sets since they are meant to be exclusive, but they are available as add-ons (or as part of a complete set Backer tier!)

Backerkit is a pledge now, pay later crowdfunding platform! Your card won't be charged until the end of the campaign, and if we don't reach our funding goal you won't be charged at all! You can edit, add to, or cancel your pledge any time between now and the end of the campaign, and add-ons can still be added even after the campaign ends. Waiting to pledge doesn't help us reach the goal, so if there is something you want it is best to pledge now instead of waiting for the campaign to be nearly over.
You will need a Backerkit account to back, but it is free and super quick to sign up for! Make sure you pay attention to the timeline, since crowdfunding is a lot like a pre-order. Pledges successfully charged after the campaign ends are final.
MARCH: Manufacturing begins once the factory is back to full operation after the February shutdown for Lunar New Year

JUNE: Pins ship to the US for grading
JULY: Grading is completed. Fulfillment may begin this month or in
AUGUST: depending on Lairbrew's convention schedule.
NOVEMBER: The latest fulfillment should be wrapping up, to make sure pins are out in time for the holidays.
These are estimates, not guarantees. The hope is that we will actually come in ahead of schedule. Possible delays are built in to these estimates. These estimates cover PINS ONLY. If additional items like plush are added and unlocked they will have their own additional development and production timelines.
Domestic and international fulfillment will both be handled by the in-house team at Lairbrew. Your package will come to you from a US address. Backers are responsible for all additional fees related to importing if there are additional fees in their country!
Shipping will be collected post-campaign in the Pledge Manager.
Lairbrew is a queer owned, disabled operated, typically plush focused art shop specializing in quality creations for older collectors. All the designs are meant to ignite that dragon-like urge to snatch up a new shiny and bring it back to your lair to lay on, and they remain a treasure that keeps bringing smiles! It is a very small business running from a home in the middle of nowhere in IL. After years of hard work and focusing mostly on huggable 3D things we're here asking you today to help us expand our offerings in to something new!
For the first 48 hours of the campaign you will be able to back an Early Bird tier! This tier is for 1 set at $5 off. There is no limit to how many backers can back at this level, but after 48 hours it will be locked and hidden. If you do not currently see the Early Bird level then it is no longer available.
If you switch off of the Early Bird tier after 48 hours you won't be able to switch back! Please be mindful if you decide to make a switch. If you want less than 5 pin sets consider adding additional sets as an Add-On instead of changing your backing level.
These are fairly unique pins and I am not as experienced with pin manufacturing as I am with plush! This could mean some plans have to change here and there along the way. Most likely anchor point placements and precise sizes, since the limitations of these kinds of things sometimes have to be discovered along the way. Any such changes will be communicated and catalogued in updates!
Unlike most pins, these will technically have a loose part when in use. The meats are magnetically adhered, so they're not locked on by a clip and could be shoved off. If they are displayed on the outside of a jacket or bag the magnets may become lost as a result, so please be mindful when choosing their home. The usual cautions for small magnets apply as well. Keep them away from anything and anyone that might swallow them, etc.
Moving parts means there is a durability consideration. If the magnets are frequently run over the surface of the pins they may scrape the silkscreen prints, causing spots of wear. Letting them slam together could also cause damage to the surface of the enamel. While the pins are fun they shouldn't be handled callously and the magnet should be fully removed and fairly gently be placed in to a new position instead of just being twisted or picked up and dropped.
Our pins are sizeable and in novel sets with screen printing and magnetic attachments, so they are not the cheapest in the world to manufacture! Our goals are set to cover manufacturing costs without an overabundance of cushion to make sure we can meet as many goals as possible, increasing our chance to make more people happy. However there is always a chance the campaign will leave us between goals or past available milestones, leaving money not immediately spoken for. 100% of the funds raised on this Backerkit will go in to keeping the business going! We are grateful for the opportunities this kind of funding affords us and always seek to use it with as much positive impact for our supporters as possible.
Don't worry, we're going in to this as educated as possible and as prepared as we can be without a crystal ball!
Goals include the current tariff rate at launch as part of the expenses. If higher tariffs are re-instated or increasedat an untenable increase that we can't weather out-of-pocket an attempt to raise additional funds will be made to cover the difference. If this effort is unsuccessful all US backers will have a choice: having their order fulfilled directly from China, or accepting credit for use at lairbrew.com equal in value to what they pledged for the campaign. Choices will not have to be made until fulfillment time is here!
Refunds will not be offered in response to tariffs, as due to the nature of crowdfunding, the money will have been spent on the manufacturing process. You will receive an amount of goods equal to what you backed for in either case however!
