Pin Progress Update #3!
Pin manufacturing is majority complete at this time! They are being shipped to me in batches currently, which is necessary since they are all magnetic and there's some funky stuff happening with rare earth imports to the US currently, according to my manufacturer. That's a bit of a bummer considering I have a magnetic plush project in the works, but we'll see how this goes.

Pin updates:

  • Albino Gator - Got the cream yellow instead of the lemon yellow!
  • Tiger and White Tiger - Fully remade, no more white fill where a cut should be!

  • Fox and Blonde Fox - Same as the tiger, the white fill instead of a cut is gone!

Domestic Cat pin and Mouse Toy magnet
- Production complete!
  • Raw Meat magnet - Re-electroplated from gold to black!

If you're curious about the others, you can see photos of everything else on the last update! We currently have 1 set still in manufacturing (it may actually be done, but it has not been shown to me) which is the White Cannibal Unicorn, and everything is otherwise good to go.. mostly.

The grilled meats have remained an issue.

The language barrier is really wrecking me on this one. I spoke with my manufacturing rep for multiple hours nonstop about what changes I wanted them to make, and what changes I absolutely did not want. We went around and around with them asking me for approval on an incorrect sheet, me refusing it because it wasn't correct, me trying to say the changes that should be made, and them saying that means the pin must already be correct instead of it needing a different change than the one they kept insisting upon. I broke this down in to multiple images that got simpler and simpler, and wrote it out in every way I could think to both detailed and complex. After all that.. they made the changes I said no to in every conceivable way. I'm really not sure what to do. When they showed me photos I again had to be like no, that's incorrect in the precise way I was afraid it would be, and they apologized but we still haven't worked something out.

I really don't know what to do. I got the first picture, asked for the last picture, and got the middle picture instead. It is exceptionally frustrating.

Technically this swap color is an issue on the 2-bone as well! But I didn't realize it until I was trying to get them to fix this. They kept asking if it should look like the 2-bone grilled, and I kept saying no, that the colors are correct but they were in the wrong place. I'm not even sure how this happened in the first place because it wasn't a part of either final artwork that I'd approved before production, and I didn't catch the error on the 2-bone soon enough. Luckily it looks better on the 2-bone than the original way imo, but for the haunch it is unacceptable so I'm.. gonna have to try articulating that it needs a fix again I guess, and if that doesn't work I'll have to find a new manu. Figures it would happen to the most popular meats...

A small number of pins have arrived!

As mentioned early on in this update, things are coming in batches. I am still waiting to receive most, and none of what I have received is a matching set. So far the following pins and meats have come in:

  • Coyote
  • Fennec Fox
  • Lynx
  • Cinnamon Raccoon
  • Wolf Apple
  • Neon Dino Haunch

I will be going through and grading pins and meats as I end up with matching sets. Because most folks have more than 1 pin set it is unlikely that I will get to fulfill many orders until all the pins are here, since they're not coming matched up and are sprinkled across a lot of batches.

Still, we are way behind on the manufacturing step. Things have been getting to me a lot slower than expected. With any luck I'll have everything in hand before November since I have that month off from conventions so I can still keep us within our timeline. It is possible

Choices for how your pins will work

With finished pins in-hand I've gotten to asses their functionality. Each set will have 1 small LOOSE magnet that can be optionally attached (impermanently or permanently) to either the back of the meat or the back of the pin's embedded magnet. This gives you multiple options for how you want to deal with adding any bulk to the front or back, and technically a way to do it without having any bulk added at all. They're compatible a variety of different display options, like cork board vs cloth banner, instead of working better for just one or the other.

  • The meats will stick to magnets even without a magnet of their own. They have a blank, flat back. The pins have a permanently embedded magnet which keeps it looking flat in profile, so a meat can be stuck to a pin without the loose magnet in play.
  • The loose magnet holds tightly to the meat when applied directly. You can place the meat on the magnet, then place the magnet anywhere you like. When placed on the pin it causes a gap between the meat and animal that is visible from the side.
  • The loose magnet can also be attached to the back of the magnet on the pin. This has the two magnets joining forces essentially, allowing the connection to firmly hold the meat in place when it is put on the front. There will not be a gap between the animal and meat in this case, and the placement of the magnet on the back can even be used to move the meat on the front.
  • You can choose to exclude the loose magnet entirely. It will just be much harder to pose the meats in any specific position or keep it stuck there if on a vibrating or brushed surface! Meats also will NOT stick to something like a fridge without the magnet.
  • All of those options do not require anything additional to be affixed! However, if you want to permanently affix anything, you are able to. Just make sure you DO NOT USE HEAT if you want to maintain the properties of the magnets. Heat will ruin magnets, so don't hot-glue them together or use chemical bonding methods that produce excessive heat.

The Deadweights campaign is LIVE!

We've already unlocked Hook and Hugs as both their full size and Bantam Burial plush! Big Brew Bash is wrapped up just in time for me to stress over this campaign instead I guess haha. I know many of you here like more unusual animals, so I hope you might find something you like among these! Earlybird pricing is still on, but not for much longer- it turns off tomorrow morning. Now's the cheapest time to snag one!

All regular pins and many recolors are available for pre-order on Lairbrew.com!

If you are looking for an alt. color pin that isn't up, I ordered few enough of those that I will need to grade the shipment of the entire set before I can put any additional up for sale. For example, it looks likely that I will have many cinnamon raccoons available, but I can't put them up just yet!

See you when I have more to share!

Pin updates by set:

  • Hyena and Piebald Hyena - Production complete!
  • Zebra haunch magnet - Production complete!
  • Gator - Production complete!
  • Albino Gator - Production completed, but the yellow needs checked in person since it looks too dark in the photos but they've insisted that it matches the pantones I provided. If it is incorrect it will be redone, but unsure if this will be by screen printing the current batch or remaking it.
  • Fish magnet - Production complete!
  • Possum - Production complete!
  • Banana magnet - Production complete!
  • Tiger and White Tiger - Production was completed, but all of the pins had an error. A cut out was instead given a white fill on both colorways. They have gone back in to manufacturing to fix this.
  • Steak magnet - Production complete!
  • Bear and Golden Bear - Production complete!
  • Salmon magnet - Production complete!
  • Fox and Blonde Fox - Production was completed, but all of the pins had an error. A cut out was instead given a white fill on both colorways. They have gone back in to manufacturing to fix this.

  • Maned Wolf - Production complete!
  • Wolf Apple magnet - Production complete!
  • Kobold - Production complete!
  • Cooked chicken leg magnet - Production complete!
  • Cheetah - Production completed! The errors in the original photograph were from it being a b-grade pin and are not indicative of the whole batch.
  • Gazelle leg magnet - Production complete!
  • Lynx - Production complete!
  • Rabbit magnet - Production complete!
  • Fennec Fox - Production complete!
  • Lizard magnet - Production complete!

  • Domestic Cat pin and Toy Mouse magnet - I did a whoopsie on this set and forgot to submit the sheet for this one, so it is getting started a bit late compared to the others. I'm still waiting for completed proofs, just like the last update.

  • African Wild Dog - Production complete!
  • Raw Meat magnet - Production was completed, but for some reason it seems to have a gold finish? I am confirming this and it will be redone if that's the case. On its own it looks fine, but it doesn't match the AWD.
  • Secretary Bird - Production complete!
  • Snake magnet - Production complete!
  • Neon Potion Dragon and CMYK Potion Dragon - Production complete!
  • Potion magnet - Production complete!
  • Black Cannibal Unicorn - Production complete!
  • White Cannibal Unicorn - In production
  • Unicorn Meat magnet - Production complete!

OVERALL PROGRESS COUNTS:

  • 40 Completed Animal Pins
  • 37 Completed Mini Meat Magnets
  • 1 Animal in production (White Cannibal Unicorn)
  • 5 Animals being re-manufactured or getting additional screen printing
  • 2 Magnet being re-manufactured or potentially remanufactured
  • 1 Set still in proof stage due to an error

We currently have 37 completed sets. Those were meant to be on their way to me now, since production delays have them splitting up the order, but I have not received any tracking information to confirm this. I've been having to stay on top of my manufacturer to make sure things continue to progress, so I will be poking them about that soon. If I end up with them in hand before any upcoming conventions I'll be making an update about con pick-up, but it looks like they are likely to miss the

The completed sets:
  • Hyena
  • Piebald Hyena
  • Gator
  • Possum
  • Raccoon
  • Cinnamon Raccoon
  • Bear
  • Golden Bear
  • Neon Raptor
  • Golden Raptor
  • Coyote
  • Bearded Vulture
  • Dustless Bearded Vulture
  • Cheetah
  • Potion Dragon
  • CMYK Potion Dragon
  • Black Cannibal Unicorn
  • Secretary Bird
  • Fennec Fox
  • Ringtail Gryphon
  • Lynx
  • Emerald Tree Boa
  • Kobold
  • Maned Wolf
  • Domestic Dog
  • White Chicken
  • Black Chicken
  • Brown Chicken
  • Lion
  • Spinosaurus
  • Halloween Spinosaurus
  • Grey Werewolf
  • Black Werewolf
  • Orca
  • Ferret
  • Lilac Ferret
  • Shark

These sets are complete pending color corrections, or they are singles that have been sent pack:
  • Albino Gator - Colors might be incorrect or it might be lighting, we will see
  • African Wild Dog - If the finish on the meat is gold it will have to be corrected
  • Grilled Haunch for the Red Dragon and Blue Dragon - Sent back for color correction

Also, I forgot to post these in the last update whoops! So here's those gold line stickers: the chicken and the albino gator. The brushed gold effect with the glossy white turned out nice.

I'll leave off with a reminder: all regular pins and many recolors are available for pre-order on Lairbrew.com! If you are looking for an alt. color pin that isn't up, I ordered few enough of those that I will need to grade the shipment before I can put any additional ones up for sale.

See you when I have more to share on what little remains!

Hey all! I have a big pile of updates to finally provide. Photos have been trickling in to me a few at a time as manufacturing progresses so I waited until I had a decent pile instead of giving you all an annoying drip feed.

  • Rabbit magnet - In production
  • Fennec Fox - Production complete!
  • Lizard magnet - In production
  • Domestic Cat pin and Toy Mouse magnet - I did a whoopsie on this set and forgot to submit the sheet for this one, so it is getting started a bit late compared to the others. I'm still waiting for completed proofs.

  • 17 Magnets in production
  • 5 Animals being re-manufactured or getting additional screen printing
  • 1 Magnet being re-manufactured
  • 1 Set still in proof stage due to an error

Since everything has to be paired up with a magnet that leaves us with only 12 (or 13 depending on how the Cheetah answer goes) completed sets. Those are on their way to me now, since production delays have them splitting up the order. I might be able to fulfill some shipments with just those, but since the various freebie pins are still in production there won't be a ton of orders that covers.

The completed sets:
  • Hyena
  • Piebald Hyena
  • Gator
  • Albino Gator
  • Possum
  • Bear
  • Golden Bear
  • Neon Raptor
  • Golden Raptor
  • Coyote
  • Bearded Vulture
  • Dustless Bearded Vulture
  • Cheetah

Non-pin updates:
  • Regular stickers and banner stickers have arrived! They look beautiful and are already graded.
  • All other non-pin rewards are in hand and waiting to go!
  • USPS has upped their prices for packages under a pound, so if you've been holding on to money for shipping charges keep in mind it is likely to be a bit higher than previous shipments from me.

I'll leave off with a reminder: all regular pins and many recolors are available for pre-order on Lairbrew.com! If you are looking for an alt. color pin that isn't up, I ordered few enough of those that I will need to grade the shipment before I can put any additional ones up for sale.

That's all for now! See you when I have more to share!

Ongoing Progress for Gnawesome Predators!
Hey all! Just checking in to let you know that stuff is getting chipped away at. There's lots of little things happening and I don't have many details to share on each individual one but they still make a heck of a pile, so:

  • All regular pins and many recolors are available for pre-order on Lairbrew.com! If you are looking for an alt. color pin that isn't up, I ordered few enough of those that I will need to grade the shipment before I can put any additional ones up for sale.
  • Gold line gator and chicken stickers have arrived! I will try to remember to snap photos before the next update, but they turned out really nice.
  • All other stickers are currently in manufacturing. I have not heard back on them in a moment and plan to check in with them soon.
  • Many pins have not begun manufacturing. They are still in the proof review stage. I have been continually told I will have them before July, but I am very much doubting that at this stage.
  • Currently 25 pins have been readied for production out of the over 40 designs. More than halfway there, but not as far along as I would have preferred to have going by now.

Pin Samples

Last time I shared some unfinished pins that didn't have screen printing or anything like that done. Here's some more, now with screen printing in some cases! Also a little reminder that many of these pin sets are B I G . That's why each set was as high a cost as it was. The raptor is among the largest because of the pose, since pins are sized specifically to look proportional to one another's snacks. For the most part the started at 2.5in and they were sized up or down (usually up) to make sure the faces were the correct size for the meats.

Not everything turned out perfect. Here are a couple problem pins. For the unicorn, they moved forward with some incorrect layers on and didn't run a proof by me so it has a lot that is getting changed- for example it having 2 different tail ends. The eyes will also be recessed metal like the ear and hooves, not bright orange. For the CMYK potion dragon, screenprinting light yellow on black enamel didn't go down so hot. It is being changed to black screenprinting on yellow enamel instead!

Here's the error cannibal unicorn with a 2-bone meat attached. The meat is upside down, but part of the fun is you'll be able to attach it however you'd like!

That's all I really have to say for now! You wanna see some cute lil dudes I'm working on? Some of them might seem familiar!

I want to make some affordable, adorable little plush that are nice enough to display but fun feeling enough to mess with. They're 4 and a half inches tall, have glass beads filling their dumpy lil bods, and they should have a pretty low price point, though what that will be will depend on transport prices by the time I finally get to make them.  I know a lot of you here will appreciate the gnawesome predator cameos! They're done in the same style as the Bantam Burials I'm working on for Deadweights.

Anyway! I'm focusing on Big Brew Bash fulfillment right now, but whenever I get significant news I'll still come over here to share it. I'll see you then!

Manufacturing! Pin sampling pics, future availability
Manufacturing has been in pre-production for a little bit now! Things have been progressing smoothly enough that I haven't had a lot to share. I did want to apologize though- I found an update in the drafts that I thought I'd posted a month ago but it apparently did not actually go up! I had no idea I'd left you all in the dark by accident for so long. I promise not much was missed! Just the pre-order shop getting shuttered and pins getting ordered.

Here's some pantone/enamel tests with a few pins! These have no screen printing, grinding, or electroplating. Poor Guz looks so naked... These are popular pins with difficult to match colors, so making samples of them is important, but most won't be tested in this way.

Carrion Baggage: Second Bite is ABOUT TO END!! Tuesday is the final day and several designs are unlocked, so please consider taking a peak if this sort of thing interests you!

The pre-order shop for Gnawesome Predators is now closed, but here's the final art for the pins unlocked when it was open:

I am in the process of putting pre-orders up on my site. That includes for all the pins unlocked after the campaign! Check the site in the future if you don't already see the design you're after up, I'm having to upload them in small batches. All the base pins and limited numbers of the recolors will be available through our website, and they will go to select conventions with us! The recolors are getting very few made except for the most popular variants (albino gator, black werewolf,) but I will hopefully have enough of the others for a good long time.

See you when I next have something to share!

Pre-Order store is closing. Orders charging soon!
Hey all! Surveys have been locked for a little bit, and cards will be charged soon. If you're not completely sure of your card info now is a good time to check it to make sure things go through successfully. I plan to close the pre-order store soon to make sure I can lock numbers in and get production going on the freshly unlocked designs. If possible I'd like them all to wrap up manufacturing at around the same time so no one's fulfillment is delayed! If you were planning to place a separate order there time is officially dwindling.

We're entering the quiet period where we're just waiting for manufacturing to wrap up, so expect things to be quiet around here for awhile. It's time for me to be concentrating on Big Brew Bash fulfillment which is a very labor-intensive process since everything is being hand stuffed/sewn and I have hundreds to do. I've also got my currently running campaign to be keeping an eye on!

Carrion Baggage: Second Bite is live and FUNDED with multiple stretch goals unlocked!

The salmon, tuna, trash can, and sardine tin bags are all unlocked, with 4 new plush keychains confirmed! We're on our way to the cracked egg bag goal right now.

I hope you're all doing well and your March is going well so far!

Project Update: Pin Progress Update #2!

Hey all! I have been continuing to receive photos, so here is a quick update to the pokedex.

  • Rodent magnet - Production complete!
  • Neon and Golden Raptor - Production complete!
  • Neon dino haunch - Production complete!
  • Raccoon and Cinnamon Raccoon - Production complete!
  • Fish Bone magnet - Production complete!

  • 2-Bone Grilled Meat magnet - Production complete!
  • Shark - Production complete!
  • Tuna magnet - Production complete!
  • Blue and Red Dragons - Production complete!
  • Grilled Haunch magnet - Production was completed, but the incorrect pantone was used for part of the meat. This is being sent back to correct.

  • Orca - Production complete!
  • Whole Salmon magnet - Production complete!

  • Domestic Dog - Production complete!
  • Tennis Ball magnet - Production complete!

Project Update: Pin progress update!

Project Update: Ongoing Progress for Gnawesome Predators!

Project Update: Manufacturing!
